New - Navignore solution - Needs more testing

With one of the latest commits a new navignore java patches were introduced.

@TheVaan was so nice and merged all the existing patch solutions into two versions. Each one is potentially good for CP and AA

This needs testing!

These solutions are not yet included into a release version, hence you have to get the latest code from GIT repro directly.
Installation can be done via GEM menu - based on train the fitting jar will be installed to unit.

How you can help:

• Please report back with your FW version and if you used CP and/or AA.
• Can you activate Siri with CP or Google assistant with AA using voice button into steering wheel with long pushing and audi voice control with short button pushing - thanks @Leor2208

Nice, please also have a look towards other behaviours.

It seems, that this might also block pop-ups for incoming messages.
In one case, a tester is using one of these AI boxes, which run a full Android system via CP.

He noticed, that the box also stopped to interrupt on board navigation after applying the patch.

I have not tested this update just yet. Will try it either this evening or tomorrow. I was only confirming to @harman-f that this functionality was there before with the official release V3.4.1. My version is MHI2Q_ER_AUG22_P4212.

Oh, you meant the focus of AA / CP, not the voice command. Well it did not push CP to the front. Tbh I like that. Either I've CP visible or not. When not visible, I only give music commands to siri and I don't want to see Siri while processing them.

I found a little "bug" with CP on MHI2_ER_AU37x_P4159:
When starting navigation on CP first, then switching to MMI Navi starting a route there, the CP navigation stops. You have to start MMI navigation first, then CP. Didn't noticed that when trying first time bc my only wish was to see the map (without routing) in VC when navigating with CP instead of this disgusting compass.

I did not test incoming messages while navigating for now. I'll try to test this, but can't promise.

Ah, allowing both to navigate at once took me a fair bit more effort to get working initially, it was patching in separate places to the "just keeping the map screen visible". I was certainly hopeful that this new patch would have covered both...

the result in my A4 B9 with version MHI2_ER_AUG22_K3346 -MU1438 is that it doesn't work, it keeps telling me that it's not compatible with audi, which files should I edit? Do you have any edited that I can add to the MIB (SD) apps folder and do it directly?

I confirm this is working great on my Audi A4 B9 MHI2Q_ER_AUG22_P4212. Only tested CP for now as I don’t have access to any Android device atm.

✅ Dual navigation functionality
✅ Siri functionality and activation by long pressing voice button on steering wheel
✅ Audi voice control functionality and activation by short pressing voice button on steering wheel
✅ Incoming notifications (Messages, Telegram) display on MMI upon arrival

Same behaviour as @TheVaan pointed out in regards to active dual navigation (i.e. route needs to be first set into the car navigation then into CP navigation for both to actively work). Anyhow, I don’t know why anyone would want both active due to potential clashing voice instructions from the two which may likely create confusion to the driver and risk of accidents. I am satisfied with having only one active with route guidance and alerts (CP one most likely due to live traffic information), yet both displayed (no more ugly compass on the VC).

Nothing else to report for now. Everything seems to work flawlessly. Many thanks!

More specific: I placed the files under /mod/java/ where also the file "NavActiveIgnore.jar" is.

But while starting the Patch in GreenMenu with M.I.B. it says that Audi is not supported.

Just get the latest code from this repo.
the other one was just linked in case someone wanted to look into the Java code in detail.

Lastest code here has the fitting patch and code to install them via GEM.

I confirm its operation with CarPlay in an Audi A4 B9 2017 version MHI2_ER_AUG22_K3346 -MU1438
verified operation of:
-Dual navigation
-Audi voice commands and Siri
-Visible notifications on MMi screen

Now I can enjoy google maps with real-time traffic on the MMi screen and in VirtualCockpit not have a black screen/compass and see an Audi map

I might need to reflash the firmware and start from scratch, I realised I had MIB toolbox installed and had previously tried the nav-active setup from there.

removing your (nav-ignore) implementation then removing the (nav-active) patch in MIB toolbox (and then uninstalling mib toolbox) and then reinstalling your nav-ignore patch resulted in standard car play operations, but still getting the navigation active on mobile device when I start route guidance on car play and starting VW navigation kills the nav via car play.

I have another report, where the patch did not work.

Seems like we have to combine all the patch solution we have seen so far.

This one is good for CP on Porsche/Audi and most likely also Bentley The original one from @andrewleech was good for VW/Skoda/Seat for both CP and AA, right? And @Errivincenz created one working for AA on Audi.

That should cover it ;) Just have add these to M.I.B and select the right patch based on the train running on the unit.

I would like to try this new solution, so far I haven't been able to find the time but maybe this weekend...
@harman-f in this latest solution what java class has been modified? I would like to look at the code.

If it really doesn't work for AA, combining all the patch solution could be the answer, great team work!

For the Audi, Porsche and Bentley, you aren't inserting the comment "Find and append jar files" and yet you are looking for it to determine if the lsd file should be patched or not. This will land up with that file being patched multiple times, if the script is rerun.

I spent my afternoon to upgrade FW and install MIB:

0. MHI2_ER_VWG11_S2125_1 (original FW, it was very old so I decided to upgrade)
1. MHI2_ER_VWG11_P3301_MU0814 (middle version)
2. MHI2_ER_VWG11_K3342_MU1427 (latest version for my unit)

I did it, because I’d kill for a MMI & phone navigation at the same time. The upgrade was successful.

After that I successfully installed MIB (version 3.6), then went to settings and enabled navignore patch. The very big problem is that when I enable navignore patch, I can no longer connect via CarPlay. I saw here your comment that I need AIO patch. I tried that too (despite I have CarPlay&Android Car from factory), but the problem remains.

When I enable navignore patch: I can not connect my iPhone
When I disable navignore patch: I can connect my iPhone

I have exactlly the same problem like you. I did the ame steps like you, but the patch is not working. Carplay gets broken. Somebody was suggesting to run the AIO package and after that apply the Carplay fix. I do not want to run the AIO as I am affraid to mess up the coding. Also, to be honest I think the Head unit was faster on the 3301 update. Let me know if you find a solution to this issue.

It didn't work either, I also looked at the code and it clearly states that there will be an error with the AU57x version. Perhaps it is possible to somehow change the encoding via VCDS or you need to connect via SSH to make some edits. I don't know, has anyone done this?

In case this helps anyone in the future, navignore works just fine in AU57x (both Carplay and AA) with this https://github.com/harman-f/MHI2_navignore/tree/main/thevaan/CP_AA_Audi

All you need to do is copy the jar and modify the lsd.sh properly so the custom jar loads first before the main jxe.

Assuming the files are on the root of SD1:

Hi, I have a Škoda MIB2 High/Columbus unit running:

I would like to use NavIgnore so that I can navigate using Waze/CarPlay while keeping the OEM navigation map displayed on the Virtual Cockpit.

I noticed that the current NavIgnore installer lists MHI2_ER_SKG13_P452*, but my unit is P4514.

Is the VW/Škoda/SEAT NavIgnore Java patch compatible with P4514/MU1163?

Are the relevant Java classes the same/compatible, or would installing/forcing navignore_vw.jar on P4514 risk preventing the HMI from booting?

I would strongly prefer to keep P4514 rather than update the firmware to P4526 solely for NavIgnore.

If P4514 is compatible, is there a safe installation method you would recommend?
