Game Engine v0.82
Pre-releaseFixes:
- Text mode support regression around v0.72 - page size was calculated incorrectly.
- Buffering had broken implementation, I was unable to test due to lack of Window B support in SVGA emulators.
New features:
- VGA.drv: Mono mode support.
- VGA.drv: Buffering support.
Changes:
- VGA.drv: We rely on BIOS again, because mono monitor is handled by BIOS internally.
- VGA.drv: Text mode support code is simplified.
P.S. Sorry for delay. First of all - I wanted to fully implement VGA.drv and be finally done with it. And it's 99% completed now - only dual monitor support isn't fully implemented. Second thing - I had to investigate, how mono was handled in VGA. EGA relies on switches, but VGA autodetects everything. Mono monitor is simple - it's handled by BIOS internally. Via converting palette to grayscale on fly. Mono mode is little bit different. There are 3 possible variants. VGA is only card installed - any mode can be used. Other card is detected - either mono mode or color. In this case, as in case of EGA, video modes, that don't match current mode - are passed to system BIOS. For now non-standard variants aren't implemented. I'm not sure, if they're needed. It's possible, that they would require full set video mode override. I need to investigate this possibility.
