StreamLinux v0.1.0-alpha - Honest Versioning Update

⚠️ Alpha Software Notice

This is an early alpha release. StreamLinux is now using honest semantic versioning to reflect its development stage.

What Changed

• Version reset to 0.1.0-alpha - Previous versions (1.0.x, 1.1.x) were premature
• Honest disclaimers - README now includes transparency about:
  • AI-assisted development
  • Unaudited security
  • Alpha software status
• New documentation:
  • CONTRIBUTING.md - How to contribute
  • SECURITY.md - Security policy
• Removed donation links - Too early for that

Installation

Fedora/RHEL (RPM):

# IMPORTANT: Use dnf to auto-install dependencies
sudo dnf install ./streamlinux-0.1.0-1.alpha.fc43.x86_64.rpm

⚠️ Do NOT use rpm -ivh - it will fail with dependency errors. Use dnf install instead.

Ubuntu/Debian/Mint (Universal):

tar -xzf streamlinux-0.1.0-linux-universal.tar.gz
cd streamlinux-0.1.0-linux
sudo bash install.sh

Note: If app does not appear in menu, log out and back in.

Android:
Enable "Install from unknown sources" and install the APK.

Known Issues

• This is alpha software - expect bugs
• Security has NOT been audited
• Missing features compared to stable alternatives
• Ubuntu: May need to log out/in for app to appear in menu
