Segfault on Ubuntu 18.04

Summary of the issue or suggestion: Segfaulting when installed from deb package in releases, but building from git latest works.

What should happen:

The launcher should run

Steps to reproduce the issue (Add more if needed):

1. Download and install deb package on Ubuntu 18.04 from https://github.com/MultiMC/MultiMC5/releases

2. Attempt to run MultiMC

3. MultiMC doesn't run from desktop launcher; attempting to run from terminal results in segfault

Suspected cause:

idk probably a library update or something, saw a similar bug affecting Arch

Additional notes: the initial downloader script worked as intended.
Version from building source from this repo works fine.
No LSB modules are available.

After starting MultiMC5, the .deb file, for the first time gets you the files as it is installer. But after that you see only the loading wheel for a while and then it stops. So after a while trying to find crash or error report. I found multimc in ./local and ran the file in terminal and from there it prints out error. it printed out this message: "/MultiMC: error while loading shared libraries: libdouble-conversion.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
Ok, so I went in /usr/lib and did not find the file there. I reinstalled libdouble-conversion1 but that did not do anything.
So since I am not a linux genuies am not sure what else I can do.
System: Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
Furthermore, I do have the package libdouble-conversion1 installed by checking with command: apt list --installed
