Native macOS YouTube Music player. Requires macOS 26 Tahoe, Apple silicon.

Nothing to set up. The playback engine ships inside the app — no Homebrew, no Python, no admin password, and nothing downloaded on first launch. Songs start in about half a second on a Mac that has never had developer tools installed.

• Zero setup — a trimmed CPython and yt-dlp are bundled in the app and unpacked on first launch, offline.
• Native browse — search, artists, albums, charts and playlists in SwiftUI.
• Dynamic Island in the notch, plus a menu-bar player.
• Offline downloads with instant-replay stream caching.
• Synced lyrics with optional on-device AI (Apple Intelligence / Ollama) for transliteration and translation — nothing leaves your Mac.
• Listening stats — top songs, top artists, clocks by hour and weekday, stored locally only.
• YouTube Music sign-in — playlists, likes, recommendations, two-way sync. Anonymous mode works too.
• Radio / autoplay and resume-where-you-left-off across launches.

Install

Open the DMG and drag Rift to Applications. The app is not notarized, so on first launch macOS will block it — right-click the app and choose Open, then confirm.
