Overview

This release of the Hospital Management System (HMS) provides a comprehensive platform for managing patient records, doctor availability, and other administrative tasks. The system supports login functionality for patients, doctors, and management staff, each with specific features and capabilities.

Key Features

  1. User Authentication

    • Secure login for patients, doctors, and management.
    • Username and password validation against stored credentials.

  2. Patient Portal

    • View Medical Records: Patients can access their medical records.
    • Doctor Availability: Patients can check the availability of doctors.

  3. Doctor Portal

    • Patient Details: Doctors can view and update patient observations and prescriptions.
    • Set Availability: Doctors can set their availability for the upcoming week.

  4. Management Portal

    • Doctor Entry: Add new doctors to the system, generating unique usernames and passwords.
    • Patient Entry: Add new patients to the system, generating unique usernames and passwords.
    • Management Entry: Add new management staff to the system, generating unique usernames and passwords.

  5. File Management

    • Patient records are stored in individual text files for easy access and updates.
    • Doctor availability is recorded in individual files for each doctor.

  6. User-Friendly Input/Output

    • Simple text-based input/output for easy interaction.
    • Clear prompts and instructions for users.

Usage

  1. Login

    • Enter your username and password to access the system.
    • Depending on the username prefix (P., D., M.), the system will direct you to the respective portal.

  2. Patient Portal

    • Choose to view medical records or check doctor availability.

  3. Doctor Portal

    • Enter patient details and update their records.
    • Set your availability for the upcoming week.

  4. Management Portal

    • Add new doctors, patients, or management staff to the system.

Files

  • credentials.txt: Stores the usernames and passwords for all users.
  • ActivePatients.txt: Lists the currently active patients.
  • Patients: Directory containing individual patient files.
  • Doctors: Directory containing individual doctor files.

How to Contribute
