v0.21.0 — TCI Digital-Mode Keying + Startup Recovery
Digital modes over TCI now cycle cleanly
Full transmit-and-receive digital operation over TCI (MSHV, WSJT-X, JTDX and similar) now returns to receive correctly on every over. A complete audit of Lyra's TCI keying against the Expert Electronics TCI protocol found and fixed the root cause of MSHV getting stuck in transmit after a cycle — and the smaller return-to-RX lag in WSJT-X:
- The keyed TX/RX state is now confirmed to the client exactly once, on the real key edge — not pre-emptively before the radio has actually keyed. A strict client (MSHV) no longer sees a confirmation that's out of step with the wire and wedges in transmit.
- The client Tune button uses the same single-on-edge model, so it keys and releases cleanly.
tx_enableis kept off the per-key path (per the TCI spec it is per-band transmit permission, not a per-key state).
Plus reference-verified TCI parity fixes:
- VFO-B tracking so split-type clients stop re-sending (fixes the cross-band / "takes a few clicks" behavior)
split_enablehonored literally, absolute IF offset handling, real CW sideband mode reporting, DRIVE / TUNE_DRIVE query-vs-set- Per-connection RX audio format — each client gets the sample format it negotiated
- Optional Emulate ExpertSDR3 / SunSDR2 PRO identity for clients that only recognize an Expert rig (Settings → Network)
Startup recovery
- Safe boot (
--safe/LYRA_SAFE) now comes up read-only — it uses the factory panel layout and never overwrites your saved one, so it's a guaranteed way back in even when a bad remembered layout is what's crashing startup. - After repeated failed starts, Lyra auto-resets just the panel layout and comes up — non-destructive; every other setting (callsign, radio, DSP, profiles) is kept.
