v1.2.1 — minimum PHP 8.1

Choose a tag to compare

@NORARAE NORARAE released this 26 Sep 19:40

Metadata release. No functional change from v1.2.0: same block, same REST endpoint, same schema output.

Changed

  • Minimum PHP is now 8.1, declared in the plugin header, the README and composer.json.

v1.2.0 declared 8.0, but nothing ever tested it — PHPUnit 10 requires 8.1, so the suite has only ever run on 8.2 and the 8.0 floor was an unverified claim. 8.1 is the lowest version the project can actually stand behind.

If you are on PHP 8.0, stay on v1.2.0 — it runs there, it was simply never tested there.

Requirements: WordPress 6.5+, PHP 8.1+.

v1.2.0 — headless REST endpoint

@NORARAE NORARAE released this 26 Sep 18:33
b8ad606

Adds a read-only REST endpoint so a headless front end can serve the same FAQ content, and the same structured data, as the WordPress page.

New

GET /wp-json/answer-ready/v1/faqs/<post_id>

Returns a post's FAQ pairs plus the FAQPage JSON-LD that post publishes. Public, read-only, cached in a transient keyed by the post's modified time, and sent with Cache-Control: public, max-age=300, s-maxage=3600. Drafts, private, password-protected and non-public post types all return the same 404.

Changed

  • The normaliser, the wp_kses() allowlist and the schema builder moved into includes/faq-data.php. The block's render callback and the endpoint both call it, so the JSON-LD on the page and the JSON from the API are the same graph by construction.
  • render.php is 31 lines shorter and holds no schema logic of its own.

Added

  • A PHPUnit suite that needs no WordPress install — composer install && composer test.
  • examples/headless-nextjs/ — a Next.js App Router page consuming the endpoint.

The block's behaviour on the page is unchanged: same editor UI, same <details>/<summary> accordion, same JSON-LD output.

Requirements: WordPress 6.5+, PHP 8.0+.

v1.0.0 — Initial release

Choose a tag to compare

@NORARAE NORARAE released this 07 Jul 02:40
caa4eb7

Initial public release of Answer-Ready FAQ Block.
An accessible WordPress FAQ accordion block that automatically generates schema.org FAQPage JSON-LD from the visible content — one source of truth for humans and machines, so structured data can never drift out of sync with the page.
Highlights

Repeater-style editor UI built in React: add, reorder, and remove Q&A pairs with full undo/redo support
Dynamic server-side render in modern namespaced PHP (8.0+, strict_types)
Native

/ accordion — keyboard and screen-reader accessible with zero front-end JavaScript
FAQPage JSON-LD generated via wp_json_encode() on every render, plain-text answers per Google guidelines
Double-layer output security: allowedFormats in the editor, wp_kses() allowlist on the server
Theme-agnostic styling via currentColor and block.json supports (colors, spacing, typography)
Inspector toggle to suppress JSON-LD when another block already emits FAQ schema
prefers-reduced-motion respected
