POPSLoader 1.2.2 is a documentation fix. The launcher code is identical to 1.2.1 apart from the version stamp.
Changes since 1.2.1:
- Correct the exFAT (BDMAssault) setup steps. The two drivers go only in the memory card's POPSTARTER folder:
mc?:/POPSTARTER/usbd.irxandmc?:/POPSTARTER/usbhdfsd.irx. The docs site also told you to copy them intomc?:/SYS-CONF/, which POPStarter never reads. Those are FreeMcBoot's own USB drivers, and replacing them can stop FMCB from booting. - If you followed the old step and FMCB no longer boots, put FMCB's original
USBD.IRXandUSBHDFSD.IRXback intomc?:/SYS-CONF/(they are in the FMCB installer'sINSTALL/SYS-CONFfolder). - You normally don't need to copy these drivers at all: with Adaptive BDMA on (the default), POPSLoader stages the right pair into
mc?:/POPSTARTER/when you launch a game. - The docs site's PS2 orb cursor and favicons are now built from tracked source, so site rebuilds keep them.
Validation: the release build passed the pinned PS2 build, the PNG decoder cases under ASan/UBSan, the 55-check Lua host harness, and the documentation consistency checks. 1.2.1's hardware-validation status carries over unchanged (RGB cover, MX4SIO art path, and SMB handoff fixes are still pending PS2 validation); publication is not a new hardware pass.
Install: extract PS1_POPSLOADER.zip using your existing installation layout, or replace the launcher with the standalone POPSLOADER.ELF. Existing settings and game folders are preserved. POPStarter and its bundled variants are included; the non-redistributable POPS engine binaries are not included.
