Version 1.2 is here!

This version adds a LOT of improvements, bug-fixes and features.

Newgrounds support

Swiff now allows you to link your Newgrounds account and unlock some cool features, like Medals, Official gamepad mapping and updated metadata

  • Games with medals will now unlock them into your Newgrounds account
  • Games where the developer created a gamepad mapping for Newgrounds will now download that mapping as an "Official layout"
  • When loading a Newgrounds game, you can use the Newgrounds page as metadata inside Swiff

HTML5 Games support!

Swiff was planned to play those old games that we played on our browsers back in those days, since Adobe Flash is dead a lot of games have moved on and started to create games with other technologies, this updates allows you to enjoy those games directly on Swiff! (For now, only Newgrounds games are allowed, no local HTML5 games)

  • You can now pass a Newgrounds URL and download an HTML5 game
  • HTML5 games will also support Medals
  • You can directly pass your gamepad input to HTML5 games in case the games support native gamepad input

Features

  • Added the option to download games with URLs (You give Swiff an URL and it will download it, Newgrounds games are treated specially)
  • Added a new "Newgrounds" page on Settings for Newgrounds related stuff
  • Improved game compatibility (Games like Super Smash Flash 2 should now be playable!)
  • Added an option to skip the Flashpoint database download on the Setup screen (Since you can directly download Newgrounds games)
  • Added an option to delete your save files from a game
  • Added an auto-updater to download updates automatically
  • Gamepad/On-screen layouts are now separated per-game for better organization (You can also create General layouts that show in every game)
  • Added options to copy or move layouts to another game
  • Added an option to adjust mouse sensitibity
  • Added an option for games to adjust their resolution instead of forcing one
  • Added in-game popups for various notifications or medal unlocking
  • Remade the "Choose an application" dialog to be a fullscreen menu
  • Added an option to change the games appearances between Cards (current), List and Capsule (like Steam Big Picture)
  • Improved the Search system (should not show incorrect games)
  • Added an option to the Quick menu to show the current game medals
  • Moved the multi-purpose button on the bottom right of the Library to the topbar to be more user-friendly
  • Now Swiff detects if the Flashpoint database is down to warn the user

Fixes

  • Fixed Flash games not being able to find files with incorrect names (Improves compatibility a lot)
  • Rewrote the gamepad-to-keyboard mapping (Should fix some issues with keys not working, still not sure, please report any issue!)
  • Fixed an issue on Android 10 where the app would crash thanks to SQL errors (#9)
  • Fixed typos (Sorry for typing NSWF lol)
  • Fixed the proxy to provide files to running content correctly (For multi-SWF flash games)
  • Improved performance when booting a game (Games are unzipped on download instead of every time on runtime)
  • Choosing a Game location should now use that as the main source instead of just copying the game and duplicating size

This update rewrote how save-files are stored, the upgrade should be seamless, but it's recommended you backup your saves in case, thank you!
