What's New

Alternative Frontends in Settings

Every platform's frontend picker is now always reachable from Settings > Link processing > Alternative frontends. The new screen lists all nine platforms (X/Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Bluesky, Reddit, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads) with their active frontend and conversion state — no need to paste or share a link first.

What's Fixed

Unsafe Frontends Retired

Two bundled frontend domains were retired after a security review prompted by a community report:

  • facebookez.com (Facebook embed) now redirects visitors to an advertising network and is blocked by security DNS providers and ad-block filter lists.
  • kkinstagram.com (Instagram backup proxy) is flagged as potentially malicious by multiple reputation services.

Both domains are removed from the built-in catalog and can no longer be added as custom frontends. Existing selections migrate automatically: Instagram users on kkinstagram move to the first active proxy, and Facebook conversion turns off unless a custom frontend is configured. Settings backups referencing the retired domains restore cleanly with the same migration.

Facebook currently ships with no built-in frontend — conversion works when you add your own custom domain in the picker.
