OpenMoto v1.2 — idle-disconnect fix + bigger 800NK map

OpenMoto v1.2

Fixes

  • Fixed the idle disconnect. If Android Auto sat on a static screen (parked, no active navigation), the stream would drop after ~30–60 s. The video pipeline now keeps the dash fed while AA is idle, so the connection stays up. This affects all bikes — and resolves the crash reported on the 450MT (#1).

Improvements

  • 800NK: a slightly larger Android Auto map. The 800NK now requests a 16:9 video config that fits its wide panel a bit better — smaller side bars, a touch more map. (Other bikes unchanged.)

Install (riders — no computer needed)

  1. Download openmoto-v1.2.apk below.
  2. Open it; if prompted, allow your browser/files app to install unknown apps.
  3. Already on an earlier version? Same signing key, so it updates in place — no uninstall.

You also need Google Android Auto installed and set up on the phone.

Proof-of-concept, not a product. Set everything up while stopped, never while riding. Use at your own risk.

OpenMoto v1.1 — manual Wi-Fi pairing (no-QR bikes)

OpenMoto v1.1

Android Auto & screen mirroring on CFMoto MotoPlay dashboards, from your phone.

New in this release

  • Manual Wi-Fi pairing for bikes that broadcast a Wi-Fi hotspot but show no pairing QR — e.g. the US-market 675 SS. On the pairing screen, tap "NO QR? ENTER WI-FI" and type the hotspot's name and password. The app saves and auto-reconnects it just like a scanned bike.
    • ⚠️ Unverified: no 675 SS has confirmed this end-to-end yet. If you have one, a report (works / doesn't) would be hugely helpful.
  • Softened the top-of-README disclaimer wording.

Bikes

  • 800NK (US) — fully working, confirmed on-bike.
  • 675 SR-R — original upstream target, profile preserved.
  • 🧪 675 SS (US) — manual Wi-Fi entry, unverified.
  • 🧪 1000 MT-X — experimental, handshake incomplete.

Install (riders — no computer needed)

  1. On your phone, download openmoto-v1.1.apk below.
  2. Open it; if prompted, allow your browser/files app to install unknown apps.
  3. Install, then follow the in-app steps (pair the bike, tap ANDROID AUTO or MIRROR).

You also need Google Android Auto installed and set up on the phone.

Already on v1.0? This is signed with the same key, so it updates in place — no need to uninstall.

This is a proof-of-concept, not a product. Set everything up while stopped, never while riding. Use at your own risk.
