NerfedLab v6.7.2

A fix for text that came out as one squashed, unreadable line.

Multi-line text renders correctly again

Any text with more than one line could collapse into a single garbled line: on the canvas, in the preview, and in the app you built. It depended on how the line spacing happened to be written, which is why it hit some screens and not others.

Headings, paragraphs and long labels now lay out with the spacing they were designed with.

If you already built an app, it needs one rebuild. Your app's code was written once, at build time, so the update does not reach back into it. Build again and the text comes out right. Designs and previews are correct the moment you update, with nothing to redo.

NerfedLab v6.7.1

A same-day fix on top of 6.7.0. Everything in 6.7.0 is here too.

Connecting GitHub now works on a corporate network

If your company inspects HTTPS traffic, as many do, "Connect GitHub" could not even start: it failed with "Couldn't reach github.com", while your browser and terminal reached GitHub perfectly well from the same machine. The reason is that NerfedLab shipped with its own list of certificate authorities and ignored the one your company installed on your Mac.

NerfedLab now reads the certificates your Mac trusts, so connecting GitHub, importing a repository, publishing, and the review flow all work behind an inspecting proxy. Nothing changes if you are not on such a network.

This was never specific to 6.7.0. Every earlier version had it, including 6.6.0; it only shows on networks that inspect traffic.

One limitation worth knowing: on those same networks, automatic updates still cannot reach the update feed. If you are behind an inspecting proxy, update by downloading the latest disk image from this page.

Requires macOS on Apple silicon.

NerfedLab 6.7.0 is the biggest release since the studio launched. Design an app by talking to it, watch the screens draw themselves, turn them into a working app, ship it, and roll it out. And now you can drive all of it from your own editor.

The studio

  • A new look. Photon: a calmer canvas, a full component kit, and type and color that hold together on every surface.
  • Inspect anything. Click an element on the canvas for its layers and properties, the way a design tool does it.
  • Start with a click. The landing page is your products; the + tile makes a new one and your first message names it.
  • Products have a home. A product backed by a repository opens on its branches: main and every draft as a tile. Drafts are branches, main is read only, and a merged draft stays exactly as it shipped.
  • Project memory. NerfedLab keeps notes on your product in plain files you can read, and fills them in as decisions land.

Making an app

  • It asks before it guesses. Questions arrive as a card in the chat with real options and an explainer for each. A key or token you type goes straight to your workspace's .env.local, and the model only ever sees that it was stored.
  • You see the work. One live line says what is happening now: scaffold, screens, polish and build.
  • Building is two steps. First a plan you approve, then the build. Nothing is written until you press Start.
  • The first build lands on your phone. When your app first runs, NerfedLab hands it to you, and Preview on phone puts it on your device over your own network when you ask for it.

Shipping it

  • A smoke test that actually taps. Seven checks walk your built app in a real browser and name any control that does nothing.
  • The pull request is the review. Send a draft for approval and NerfedLab opens the PR, asks your reviewers, and posts an automated security pass over the diff. Ship waits for a clean pass and no open change request.
  • Staged rollout. A shipped feature goes out to a percentage of devices, ramps when you are ready, and halts itself if the released version starts erroring where the old one does not.

Connect NerfedLab to your own tools

  • Every verb is an MCP tool. Point Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code or Codex at NerfedLab and drive the whole platform from there: make a project, answer its questions, plan, build, preview, smoke test, review, ship.
  • Connect hands you the URL, the token and a one-click install for each client.
  • VS Code inside NerfedLab. A full editor in a tab, installed on demand, running against your project's workspace. The Files editor stays where it is, with inline edit and project search.
  • Open in VS Code opens the workspace in your own editor instead.

Also

About fifty fixes found by using the product: files not refreshing after the agent wrote them, a draft that froze when main moved past it, a deleted draft whose conversation came back in the next one, branch changes interrupting a running turn, and an Appearance row in exported apps that did nothing.

Requires macOS on Apple silicon. This release is rolling out to a share of installs first; updates arrive on their own.

v6.3.0 — BYO-GitHub + go live

v6.3.0 — your app in your GitHub, and live on the web

BYO-GitHub — opt-in "also live in my GitHub." Sign in to GitHub right from NerfedLab (device flow — nothing to paste, no secret on your machine), publish your project to a private repo you own, keep it synced, open real pull requests, and Ship pushes main + version tags. Your code and token never touch NerfedLab's servers — everything goes device → GitHub. Disconnect truly revokes at GitHub.

Go live — one click deploys your app to a public URL on GitHub Pages, off your linked repo. The live link shows in the App view and the Git panel, with Redeploy. (v1: static apps; free Pages needs a public repo.)

Plus reliability hardening and UI-honesty fixes across the GitHub flow.

Auto-updates from 6.2.x. Apple Silicon · notarized + stapled.

NerfedLab 6.2.1

@rishabhsrivastava0811 rishabhsrivastava0811 released this 13 Jul 12:38

NerfedLab 6.2.1

A fix for asking in chat: "send me an APK" / "give me the apk" typed as a plain message now works exactly like the App view's APK button — the packager finds your Android tooling itself, always produces a fresh build, and hands you the download chip when it lands.

(6.2.0 introduced the APK feature and automatic session renewal — see that release if you're coming from 6.1.x.)

NerfedLab 6.2.0

Your app, on your phone — and sessions that quietly stay signed in.

📱 On-demand APK

Ask in chat — "send me an APK" — or click the phone icon on the running App view, and NerfedLab packages your app's exact current state as a real, installable Android APK (debug-signed, made for testing on your own devices). Progress streams live; when it lands you get a download chip in the chat and an APK · size link in the toolbar.

  • Needs Android tooling on your Mac: installing Android Studio once provides everything (Java rides inside it) — NerfedLab finds it automatically. Without it, the button tells you exactly what's missing instead of failing mid-build.
  • The Android scaffolding stays out of your project history and the Files panel; your web app is untouched.
  • First build on a machine downloads gradle dependencies (~10–15 min); later builds are much faster.

🔐 Sessions stay signed in

Your sign-in used to expire after 30 days, full stop. Now any launch in a token's last 10 days quietly exchanges it for a fresh one — an app you open at least every ~20 days never signs you out. (Sessions still have an absolute 6-month cap, and an app left closed past full expiry asks you to sign in again — by design.)

Auto-update: installs of 6.0.1+ update hands-free (download in background, applies on quit). 6.0.0 installs predate the updater — reinstall once from nerfedlab.com/download.

NerfedLab 6.1.0

@rishabhsrivastava0811 rishabhsrivastava0811 released this 13 Jul 08:34

NerfedLab 6.1.0

Code intelligence lands in the Pro editor, and stuck design turns now recover with one click.

Language intelligence (Pro skin → Files)

  • Hover any symbol for its type signature.
  • ⌘-click a symbol to jump to its definition — across files.
  • F2 renames a symbol project-wide (imports, exports, usages).
  • Diagnostics as you type — errors surface per keystroke, before you save, powered by a resident per-project TypeScript server.

Reliability

  • Stuck turns self-heal. If a design/build turn goes silent, a banner appears — one click on Reconnect disposes the hung agent, respawns it with your conversation context, and picks your last message back up. No lost projects.
  • The App view can never adopt a foreign server. Port ownership is verified end-to-end; another app squatting a preview port is skipped, and orphaned preview servers from previous runs are reaped at boot.
  • Model switching is safe mid-project — it respawns the agent on the new model with conversation memory; no more stray /model lines in transcripts or commit subjects.
  • Agent children are tracked in pidfiles and reaped across app restarts (no more orphaned 300MB processes).
  • Transcript rendering: paragraph joins fixed live and replayed; preview hydration errors eliminated.

UX

  • Immediate "✦ working…" pulse from send to first event.
  • "Build changed — Restart to load it" chip on the running App view when a rebuild lands.
  • Chat renders are memoized (double-click "Open" chip fixed); auth badge no longer pops in.

Auto-update: installs of 6.0.1+ update hands-free (download in background, applies on quit). 6.0.0 installs predate the updater — reinstall once from nerfedlab.com/download.
