Installation Notes
Windows
Windows may show a SmartScreen warning ("Windows protected your PC") since the app is not code-signed. Click More info → Run anyway.
macOS
macOS will block the app on first launch since it's not code-signed. To open it:
- Open the DMG and drag Zune Explorer to Applications
- Right-click (or Control-click) the app in Applications → Open
- Click Open in the dialog that appears
You only need to do this once. Alternatively, run in Terminal:
xattr -cr /Applications/Zune\ Explorer.appRequirements
- A Zune device and USB cable (for sync features)
- MTPZ key data file (required for Zune authentication)
- USB 2.0 port recommended for Zune 30/classic models
