  • Fixed the display scale you set in Collider's Preferences being ignored when you open an app from the app menu or a desktop icon. It now applies however you launch.

@Nico-LaFoucate Nico-LaFoucate released this 12 Oct 18:33
  • Added Audition and InDesign as experimental apps: neutron launch audition and neutron launch indesign. They aren't officially supported yet. If something doesn't work, please open an issue and pick the app in the form.
  • They need neutron-wine 11.10-108, which neutron update installs.
  • Fixed aescripts panels, such as Captioneer, not opening. Neutron edited their signed manifests, so the Adobe apps refused to load them. neutron update puts the original manifests back. On 11.10-108 the panels don't need those edits.
  • neutron doctor now reports CEP extensions whose installed files don't match their signature, which keeps their panels from opening. Damage to a third-party extension shows as a separate warning, cep-third-party, and doesn't mark the prefix unhealthy.

@Nico-LaFoucate Nico-LaFoucate released this 12 Oct 01:05
  • Fixed embedded web panels staying empty, such as the build and copyright panel in Lightroom Classic's About box. Prefixes set up by Mud Hut never registered Wine's built-in browser engine. neutron prefix provision now registers it, and neutron update repairs existing prefixes when it moves them to the new runtime.
  • neutron doctor now checks that Wine's browser engine is registered.

@Nico-LaFoucate Nico-LaFoucate released this 10 Oct 21:12
  • Fixed Lightroom Classic 15.5 and later crashing a few seconds after starting ("Adobe Lightroom Classic has encountered a problem and needs to close"). Its launch profile blocked dxcore, which Lightroom's Content Credentials library needs.
  • neutron prefix provision and neutron fonts repair now copy Adobe Clean in from the installed Adobe app when the prefix doesn't have it. A prefix with only Lightroom used to fail the fonts check, and Repair couldn't fix it.

@Nico-LaFoucate Nico-LaFoucate released this 09 Oct 18:36
  • Lightroom (experimental) now reaches Adobe's sign-in page on a fresh install. Its launch profile no longer blocks Neutron's dxcore (the cause of "Failed to initialize Camera Raw") and turns on the Direct2D color management Lightroom needs, which arrives in runtime 11.10-100. Lightroom is still experimental: signing in, editing and color accuracy haven't been tested yet.

@Nico-LaFoucate Nico-LaFoucate released this 09 Oct 16:23
  • neutron launch now applies the display fix for Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder before every launch, the same way Collider does. Launches from the app menu, the dock, a file or a terminal get it too.
  • Removed neutron window-rule premiere-home: its rule only ever matched Premiere's splash screen. neutron setup and neutron update remove the rule if an earlier version installed it.
  • Corrected messages and help: the fonts repair hints include --prefix, the --scale example is 1.75, runtime which reports "newest installed", and a few other wording fixes.

@Nico-LaFoucate Nico-LaFoucate released this 08 Oct 17:11

The first public beta of Neutron, which runs Adobe Creative Cloud apps on Linux. You need your own
licensed Adobe apps; you sign in inside each app, the same as on Windows.

Install

curl -LO https://github.com/Nico-LaFoucate/neutron/releases/latest/download/neutron
python3 neutron setup

neutron setup installs neutron-wine, Mud Hut and Collider from GitHub, Microsoft's components
from Microsoft, and Adobe's Creative Cloud package from Adobe. Then open Neutron Collider and
install your apps from its Mud Hut tab.

Requirements: 64-bit Linux with glibc 2.39 or newer, a Wayland session, an NVIDIA GPU, Python 3
and cabextract.

Tested on three machines, all CachyOS with KDE Plasma (Wayland) and NVIDIA GPUs. AMD and Intel GPUs,
other distributions and other desktops are not validated yet; reports are welcome in
Issues.
