Lumina Live 2.2.0-beta.5

Choose a tag to compare

@NicolasAmorosi NicolasAmorosi released this 23 Oct 19:53

A fix release on top of 2.2.0-beta.4. It's still a beta: try it at a rehearsal before relying on it in a service.

Download

System File
Windows 10/11 (x64) Lumina-Live-win-x64.exe
macOS, Apple Silicon Lumina-Live-mac-arm64.dmg
Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint (x64) — experimental Lumina-Live-linux-amd64.deb
Other Linux distributions (x64) — experimental Lumina-Live-linux-x86_64.AppImage
  • LibreOffice is needed for PowerPoint presentations (PDFs don't need it). If it's missing, the app says so and explains how to install it.
  • The installers aren't signed yet. Windows: «More info» → «Run anyway». macOS: System Settings → Privacy & Security → «Open Anyway».
  • Upgrading: install over the previous version (or over WorshipApp). Programs, library, Bibles and settings are kept.

What's new since 2.2.0-beta.4

  • Smoother transitions on the projector. Leaving a video could flash one black frame; it no longer does. And «Crossfade» now dissolves straight from one picture to the next, instead of dimming to about 75% brightness halfway through. The LIVE monitor shows the same.
  • The rows under the PREVIEW and LIVE monitors line up for every kind of content: video, audio, image, presentation, verse, time scenes and overlays. The «Muted — doesn't interrupt the projection» hint of a previewed video now sits under its position bar.

Known issues

  • Linux is experimental. In automated testing the projection and control windows closed by themselves while a presentation was on screen. This doesn't happen on Windows or macOS.
  • On Ubuntu 24.04 or later use the .deb: AppArmor won't let the AppImage start without --no-sandbox.
  • This beta hasn't been run on a Windows machine yet. If something fails there, please open an issue.

@NicolasAmorosi NicolasAmorosi released this 23 Oct 19:03

The first public release of Lumina Live (formerly WorshipApp), now free and open-source software under the GPL-3.0-or-later. It's still a beta: try it at a rehearsal before relying on it in a service.

What's new since 2.2.0-beta.3

  • English, Italian and Portuguese (Brazil) alongside Spanish. A new install starts in the computer's language; change it in Settings › System.
  • Without LibreOffice the app warns and only blocks converting PowerPoint files: PDFs, decks already converted and everything else keep working.
  • Linux for the first time: a .deb and an AppImage, both x64 with FFmpeg bundled.
  • macOS: the app is now signed ad-hoc, so it no longer depends on the keychain of whoever builds it.
  • Fixed: slide 1 of an auto-advancing hymn lost part of its time when GO LIVE opened the projector.
  • Fixed: if the projector window was closed while it was opening, no GO LIVE reopened it.
  • Fixed: a copied profile projected broken slides and could clear the original's slide cache.
  • Fixed: the startup LibreOffice warning stayed after LibreOffice was found.
  • The projector window's title follows the app's language.
  • crash.log now records when the control or projector window crashes.
  • The bundled Bible is labelled Reina-Valera 1909, which is what it always was. The RV1960 is copyrighted and can't be bundled: import it if you have it.
  • Installer file names no longer carry the version.
