@Nierowheezy Nierowheezy released this 13 Sep 17:49

v2.0.0 — Documentation + Agent Intelligence Layer

Live: https://libwatch.vercel.app

New: Documentation API

  • GET /api/library-docs?library=<name> — README + CHANGELOG for any npm package or GitHub repo (owner/repo). Falls back to GitHub raw when the npm registry omits its readme field. 5-minute cache.
  • GET /api/library-resolve?q=<query>&limit=<n> — ranked library search across npm registry and GitHub repositories. 60-second cache.

New: MCP tool server (POST /api/mcp)

  • Stateless Streamable-HTTP JSON-RPC endpoint for AI coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, etc.)
  • resolve-library-id — finds the right library from a natural-language query
  • query-docs — fetches current documentation for a specific library
  • Supports protocol versions 2024-11-05 / 2025-03-26 / 2025-06-18

New: Docs panel in the dashboard

  • Resource inspector now has Metadata / Docs / Raw tabs
  • Docs tab renders README + CHANGELOG inline via react-markdown + remark-gfm
  • Raw tab shows the exact JSON payload for inspection

Architecture

  • server/cache.ts — generic in-memory cache helpers (per-key TTL)
  • server/registry.ts — shared docs + resolution providers (npm + GitHub) used by REST and MCP
  • server/mcp.ts — stateless JSON-RPC handler (no long-lived sessions required for serverless)
  • Permissive CORS headers added globally for API + MCP clients

Config agent example (mcpServers)

v1.0.1 — Docs, License & Build Plan

Choose a tag to compare

@Nierowheezy Nierowheezy released this 11 Sep 13:46

Added

  • MIT License
  • CONTRIBUTING.md — setup, code style, PR guidelines
  • BUILDPLAN.md — full project plan covering v1.0 through v2.0 roadmap (docs panel, docs API, MCP server)
  • Comprehensive README rewrite: use cases, architecture, API reference, roadmap, deployment

Changed

  • package.json: name → libwatch, version → 1.0.1, license → MIT

Known limitation (documented)

  • NPM stars/issues are hash-based estimates, not real GitHub metrics

@Nierowheezy Nierowheezy released this 11 Sep 12:45

LibWatch 1.0.0

Initial public release of LibWatch — a high-density monitoring dashboard that tracks release activity, last-updated dates, and activity velocity across NPM packages and GitHub repositories.

Live: https://libwatch.vercel.app

Added

  • High-density dashboard for tracking NPM packages and GitHub repositories
  • GET /api/npm-update?package=<name> — version, publish date, weekly downloads, license, description, size
  • GET /api/github-update?repo=<owner/repo> — latest commit, stars, forks, issues, subscribers, license, size
  • 30-second in-memory caching with source: live | cache
  • Optional GITHUB_TOKEN support to lift GitHub API rate limits
  • 30-day sparkline analytics, auto-sync countdown clock, drag-and-drop priority sorting, configurable keyboard hotkeys, YAML resource inspector
  • Browser localStorage persistence

Changed

  • Shared Express app extracted to app.ts, consumed by both the local server and the Vercel serverless function
  • Production server bundle is now ESM and PORT is configurable

Fixed

  • /api/* routing under Vercel so the static frontend and API coexist
  • Removed a Vite/Rollup dependency from the serverless function bundle that caused runtime failures
