Release list
Zotero MCP 1.6.2
Sync upstream through 81d0777 while preserving one-call metadata, multiple attachments, and collection import.
- Add recoverable trash_item with write permission checks and permanent-delete rejection.
- Add personal-library linked_file attachment import; ordinary import still copies files.
- Improve Ollama native connection testing and client-selection menus.
- Preserve fork update URLs and addon identity.
Validation: 25 unit checks, production XPI build and TypeScript check; independent code review passed.
Zotero MCP 1.6.1
Sync upstream v1.6.0 (e87f266), preserving the fork's one-call metadata + local attachments + collection import and fork update URLs.
- Adds add_by_identifier, Zotero 10 PDF extraction support, UTF-8 request fixes, richer item metadata, and semantic indexing fixes.
- Preserves write_item create filePath/filePaths and collectionKeys, integrated with deferred notifier queues.
- Supports Zotero through 10.99.99 in both XPI and update manifest.
Validation: production build and TypeScript check; 15 HTTP parser tests and 5 fork import regression tests passed.
Operational notes: semantic SQLite storage enables WAL; Zotero 10 users should rebuild their semantic index after upgrading. Write notifications can complete asynchronously, and newly created items are no longer automatically selected.
Zotero MCP Plugin 1.5.1
Fix get_item_details itemType reporting and switch default release/update links to NightWatcher314/zotero-mcp.
- Preserve Zotero itemType from item.itemType instead of reading it as a regular field.
- Point plugin update manifests, release links, docs, and package metadata at the maintained fork.
- Build: zotero-mcp-plugin-1.5.1.xpi

Zotero MCP Plugin 1.5.0 - AI Import Attachments
Fork build based on upstream v1.5.0. Adds an AI-friendly write_item create workflow that can create a Zotero item, import local filePath/filePaths as child attachments, and add the new item to collectionKeys in one MCP call. Enable Write Operations in the plugin preferences before using write tools.
