@NikOneZ1 NikOneZ1 released this 12 Oct 11:00

CineNotch now updates itself.

  • Once a day it checks for a new version, and Check for Updates… is in the menu.
  • Settings → General has a switch for automatic update checks. The check sends nothing but the request itself.

Coming from 0.1.0? That version can't update itself, so download this one once: open CineNotch.dmg and drag CineNotch to Applications, replacing the old copy. From here on, updates arrive in the app.

Needs: macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon or Intel. Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

The first signed release.

CineNotch tucks Picture in Picture from Safari and Chrome into your MacBook's notch, or into a pill it draws in the menu bar on Macs without one. Glance at the camera and the video slides out. Look back at your work and it tucks away. Hovering the notch works too.

Install: open CineNotch.dmg and drag CineNotch to Applications. It's signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

Needs: macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon or Intel.

On first launch CineNotch asks for Accessibility and Screen Recording, and the glance also needs the camera. Camera frames are analyzed on your Mac and never leave it.

This version doesn't update itself yet. The next one will, once you download it.
