Releases: Niko11111/FilaManBambuUsage

v0.9.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Niko11111 Niko11111 released this 07 Sep 14:51

Deducts the filament a Bambu Lab print used from the matching FilaMan spools,
automatically.

Requires FilaMan 1.2.45 or newer. That release renders a plugin page inside
the navigation shell, which this version relies on.

Install: download bambu_usage-0.9.0.zip below and upload it in FilaMan
under Admin, Plugins. A first installation needs one restart of FilaMan, so the
plugin's routes get mounted.

Since 0.8.4

  • The navigation is FilaMan's job now. 0.8.4 kept the drawer on this page by
borrowing it at runtime: it fetched FilaMan's own start page and lifted the
drawer, the stylesheet and the layout script out of it. That worked, but it
lived off FilaMan's DOM staying as it is. The clean fix belonged upstream and
went there as pull request #134, merged and shipped in FilaMan 1.2.45: one
static page that renders the layout around a plugin page, and one line in the
navigation that links there. Every plugin gained the drawer, not only this one.

So the borrowing came out again. About 150 lines became three, which notice
that the page sits in a frame and hide the page's own way back, because the
drawer is now the way back. Opened directly by its own URL the page still
stands on its own, link and all. Nothing else about the page changed, and
every colour comes from this plugin's own tokens again.

Upgrading from 0.8.4

Nothing to do beyond the upload, as long as FilaMan is 1.2.45 or newer. On an
older FilaMan the page still works, it simply stands there without the drawer
around it. No manifest field can state a minimum version, so nothing stops the
installation either way.

Still untested

Unchanged from 0.8.4: other printer models than the X1C, a spool change mid
print, a real printer fault, and the combination with FilaMan's scale, which can
assign a slot itself within a time window after weighing. See the README for the
full list.

v0.8.4

Choose a tag to compare

@Niko11111 Niko11111 released this 22 Aug 12:31

Deducts the filament a Bambu Lab print used from the matching FilaMan spools,
automatically.

Install: download bambu_usage-0.8.4.zip below and upload it in FilaMan
under Admin, Plugins. A first installation needs one restart of FilaMan, so the
plugin's routes get mounted.

Since 0.8.3

  • FilaMan's navigation stays on the page. FilaMan serves a plugin page
outside its own interface, so the drawer disappeared for as long as the page
was open, and a button at the top was the only way back. The page now borrows
the shell at runtime: it fetches FilaMan's own start page, lifts the drawer,
the stylesheet and the layout script out of it and hangs its content into
that. Nothing of FilaMan's is copied into this repository, so the drawer is
whatever your FilaMan renders, in all three themes and both languages, with
the plugin's own entry marked as the open one.

If any piece is missing, because a FilaMan release renamed it or the request
fails, the page stands on its own exactly as it did before, button and all.
The worst case is the state of yesterday, not a broken page.

Proposed to FilaMan

Borrowing works, but the clean place for this is FilaMan itself: one static page
that renders the layout around a plugin page, and one line in the navigation
that links there. FilaMan already allows the embedding, so the change is small,
and a patch for it is ready to be offered as a pull request. If it lands, every
plugin gains the drawer and this plugin drops the borrowing again.

Still untested

Unchanged from 0.8.3: other printer models than the X1C, a spool change mid
print, a real printer fault, and the combination with FilaMan's scale, which can
assign a slot itself within a time window after weighing. See the README for the
full list.

v0.8.3

Choose a tag to compare

@Niko11111 Niko11111 released this 21 Aug 12:39

Wording changed on the print card.

Install: download the ZIP below and upload it in FilaMan under Admin, Plugins.

v0.8.2

Choose a tag to compare

@Niko11111 Niko11111 released this 21 Aug 11:38

Deducts the filament a Bambu Lab print used from the matching FilaMan spools,
automatically.

Install: download bambu_usage-0.8.2.zip below and upload it in FilaMan
under Admin, Plugins. A first installation needs one restart of FilaMan, and the
page now says so instead of showing an empty screen.

Since 0.7.6

  • A spool is found by the RFID tag of its tray. FilaMan's Bambu Lab driver
keeps a tray's type and colour but not its tray_uuid, so nothing over there
can match the tag against the spool carrying it. The plugin reads the uuid out
of the report it receives anyway and looks the spool up by rfid_uid.
FilaMan's own assignment always wins where there is one, and nothing is ever
    written back into printer_slot_assignments.
  • The card says where a spool came from ("found by RFID"), and which tray
the printer is drawing from right now
, with the marker moving at a colour
    change.
  • Cancelled is no longer called failed. A fault leaves an error code behind,
a print somebody stopped does not. The code is stored and shown, because that
reading is an assumption that the first real fault will confirm or correct.
  • Timestamps carry their offset. They were sent without one, so a browser
read them as local time and every print sat an hour or two early.
  • "Corrected by hand" now only means the amount was. It used to appear on
rows where merely the spool had been picked.

Proven on hardware, 21 August 2026

A two colour print on an X1C: one row resolved by its tag with nobody assigning
anything, the row beside it stayed open rather than being guessed at, and an
abort at 95.8 % of the layers booked 2.09 g of a 2.45 g estimate, which is the
85 % that filament's layer curve had reached.

Still untested

Other printer models, a spool change mid print, a real printer fault, and the
combination with FilaMan's scale, which can assign a slot itself within a time
window after weighing. See the README for the full list and for the one limit of
the tag route: it reads rfid_uid, and a scale may have written an NTAG there
that the printer never reports.

v0.7.6

Choose a tag to compare

@Niko11111 Niko11111 released this 21 Aug 01:27

Deducts the filament a Bambu Lab print used from the matching FilaMan spools,
automatically.

Install: download bambu_usage-0.7.6.zip below and upload it in FilaMan
under Admin, Plugins. FilaMan needs one restart the first time, so the plugin's
routes get mounted.

In this build

  • Watches every printer with driver_key == "bambulab" over its own MQTT
connection, reads the 3MF over FTPS, books through FilaMan's SpoolService
  • An aborted print costs the share it actually reached, taken from the layer
curves in the plate gcode rather than from elapsed time
  • History with plate previews, cost per print, deviation from the slicer's
estimate, search and filters, reassigning a spool (which moves the booking),
correcting an amount, deleting an entry
  • Warns while a print runs when the assigned spool will not last
  • English and German, all three FilaMan themes

Please read the "What nobody has tried yet" section of the README first.
Only an X1C has ever run this, and several paths are covered by tests but not
by real hardware.
