FAQ
The quirks and questions, answered calmly for once.
They don't put the magnet in search results. OdysseySearch fetches it from each torrent's details page, which makes those three engines about half a second slower. Nothing to do about it.
They are. "Verified 6000 seeders" is not always gospel. Smart ranking exists
partly because of this, and min:N lets you set your own bar.
Real-Debrid links expire. If a download dies mid-flight, just run it again. OdysseySearch refuses to save the 403 error page as your movie — that used to be a bug.
It's a library, not a swarm. Those results surface under smart sort by
relevance, and get filtered out if you use min:N.
~/Downloads/Odyssey/ by default. Change it:
python odyssey.py prefs --dl-dir "D:\videos"Yes. The whole tool is built around it — there's no "organic" download path, and that's deliberate.
No. OdysseySearch never joins the swarm. It finds torrents and hands them to Real-Debrid, which does the heavy lifting. You download from RD's CDN.
Stremio is great for watching but you browse what the addon serves — it doesn't really search. JDownloader/Plowshare don't search at all. qBittorrent + VPN still puts your IP on the swarm. OdysseySearch is: search + debrid in one terminal screen.
