@NiranjanS8 NiranjanS8 released this 21 Oct 08:28

Glance v0.1.3

This release adds Windows Explorer integration, resumable sessions, and per-file close controls.

Added

  • Open with Glance in Windows Explorer for .md, .markdown, and .mdown, plus an Open with Glance context-menu entry.
  • Drag a Markdown file onto the Glance icon to open it.
  • Single-instance behavior: opening another file focuses the existing window instead of starting a second copy.
  • A close control on each opened file in both the folder tree and the session list.
  • Last-view restore: reopen the last document, folder, and opened-file session on the next launch.

Changed

  • The Windows executable metadata now identifies the app as Glance instead of Electron.
  • The installer registers Glance.exe with FriendlyAppName=Glance and removes stale electron.exe Open With entries.
  • License: new releases use PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. Commercial use requires a separate license. MIT grants for v0.1.1 and v0.1.2 remain valid.

Installer

Windows x64 installer: Glance.Setup.0.1.3.exe

SHA-256: 52C0BE36B17CDDB21C76C1B60CCA5CC5731154E5D167626DD6D1A49812551945

Size: 83,820,088 bytes.

The build is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may warn on first run.

@NiranjanS8 NiranjanS8 released this 20 Oct 14:52

Glance v0.1.2

This release rolls up the work since v0.1.1.

Added

  • Mermaid diagrams rendered locally, theme-matched, with lazy loading, horizontal overflow, and a source fallback when a diagram is invalid.
  • KaTeX math for inline $...$ and display $$...$$ expressions, including muted raw-source fallbacks and currency-safe parsing.
  • GitHub alerts for NOTE, TIP, IMPORTANT, WARNING, and CAUTION.
  • Footnotes and emoji shortcodes, with working reference/back-reference links and Unicode-only emoji.
  • Code copy controls on fenced blocks, visible on hover or keyboard focus and copying the original source.
  • Built-in help from the bundled HELP.md, opened with Help > Help or F1 without entering the file session.

Changed

  • Folder mode with a sidebar tree, root README auto-open, folder-scoped relative links and images, and folder search.
  • Live reload for the open file and folder tree.
  • Contents rail, in-document find, sidebar search, back/forward history, and multi-file opening.
  • New keyboard shortcuts for navigation, zoom, full screen, live reload, contents, and help.
  • Packaged runtime assets are restricted to the required Mermaid, KaTeX, plugin, and vendor files.

Removed

  • Toggle Developer Tools from the View menu. Ctrl+Shift+I, Ctrl+Shift+J, and F12 no longer open DevTools.

Glance v0.1.1

@NiranjanS8 NiranjanS8 released this 18 Oct 18:57

Bug-fix release.

  • Drag-and-drop works again. Dropped files lost their path when Electron 32 removed the non-standard File.path, so a drop silently did nothing. Paths now come from webUtils.getPathForFile through the preload bridge.
  • No more light-theme flash on launch. The stored (or OS) theme is applied before the first paint instead of after the document loads.
  • The specified typography now renders. Source Serif 4 and JetBrains Mono are self-hosted in vendor/, since the app CSP allows no remote resources.
