Nexgn Templates & Workspace - Reusable Documents and Team Collaboration

Overview

Preparing and signing a document is only one part of a larger business workflow. When similar agreements need to be created repeatedly, users also need reusable document structures, organized signer contacts, team collaboration, and control over who can perform specific actions.

Following the introduction of Nexgn's core document signing workflows, this release expands the product toward repeatable document preparation and collaborative workspace management.

Nexgn Templates & Workspace (v0.3.0) introduces reusable templates, Contact Book capabilities, team management, granular permissions, and improved document organization.

1. Reusable Document Templates

Templates help users prepare recurring documents without rebuilding the entire configuration for each new workflow.

This release introduces:

The Contact Book introduces a dedicated place to manage contact information used in document workflows.

Included capabilities:

  • Contact information
  • Contact search and organization
  • Contact-based signer selection

Keeping contact information organized provides a foundation for reducing repetitive signer entry in recurring workflows.

Included capabilities:

  • Team management interface

  • Team member invitations
  • Team member management
  • Team member removal

These features establish the initial structure for administering users and access within a shared workspace.

4. Role-Based Permissions

A collaborative document workspace needs controls over which actions users can perform.

This release introduces permission management across major product areas, including:

  • Dashboard
  • Templates
  • Documents
  • Contact Books

Document permissions include supported actions such as:

  • View
  • Upload
  • Edit
  • Delete
  • Send for Signature
  • Cancel Requests
  • Archive

These controls provide the foundation for more structured access management across document operations.

5. Workspace Organization

The release improves how users navigate and manage documents, templates, and workspace activity.

Workspace improvements include:

  • Improved workspace navigation
  • Team-oriented application structure
  • Improved document organization
  • Improved template organization

  • Recycle Bin experience
  • Archive and restore workflows

6. User Experience Improvements

The workspace experience also introduces refinements across common interface patterns.

  • Improved tables
  • Improved search interfaces
  • Improved filtering
  • Improved action menus
  • Improved empty states
  • Improved loading states
  • Improved responsive behavior
  • Improved mobile workspace experience

These improvements support a more consistent experience across document management, templates, and team administration.

Why We Built This

Once users can prepare and sign documents, the next challenge is making those workflows repeatable and manageable.

Creating similar documents repeatedly introduces avoidable work. Managing frequently used signer information separately can add friction, while shared workspaces need clear administrative boundaries.

This release addresses those foundational needs by introducing templates, saved contacts, team management, and permissions within the Nexgn application.

Product Thinking Behind This Release

Move from individual document actions toward repeatable, organized workflows.

The goal was to establish reusable document structures and the supporting workspace capabilities required for recurring business operations.

Templates help structure repeated preparation. Contact Book capabilities organize signer information. Team management provides administrative controls, while permissions establish boundaries around supported actions.

Together, these capabilities create a foundation for expanding Nexgn into a collaborative document workflow platform.

What's Next

The next milestone focuses on the services surrounding the document workflow.

Planned product development moves toward connected storage, account-security controls, notification preferences, subscription management, team administration refinements, and guided onboarding.
