Linux Terminal PoC 1

Public experimental candidate for Debian 13 x86-64. Not a stable release.
Windows remains the primary desktop edition; its existing packages and the hub
package are unchanged by this Linux release.

Install

Download the .deb and SHA256SUMS-linux.txt into the same folder:

sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS-linux.txt
sudo apt install ./airdc-i2p_0.1.0-linuxpoc1_amd64.deb
airdc-i2p

Run as your normal user. Choose a nickname and download folder, then add your
hub's portless adc://...b32.i2p address through the Hubs menu, adding credentials only if required by the hub.
The bundled private i2pd starts automatically. No separate I2P, SAM, SOCKS,
port forwarding or router configuration is needed. Initial tunnels take time.

Menus cover hub/private chat, users and file lists, search, downloads, upload
activity, queue control, shares, upload slots and logs. No folders are shared
by default. Quit stops both the client and its private router. An already
configured profile can also run with airdc-i2p --headless.

Verified for This Candidate

  • Debian package installation, update and interactive nickname/download-folder
setup, saved hub entry and normal quit.
  • Two independent Linux profiles/routers in one isolated Linux VM, communicating
through the real I2P network and the existing hub: hub/private chat, file lists,
hub-routed search and complete 1 MiB transfers both directions with matching SHA256.
  • Persistent identity, saved-hub automatic login, actual bundled-router termination,
automatic offline/error exit with no surviving child processes, and successful
    restart after that failure.
  • DC process socket snapshots: only loopback TCP, no UDP, including samples during
router failure. This is bounded evidence, not full packet-level security certification.
  • 16 focused Python test cases and the C++ SAM baseline/Linux ownership cases.
Tests cover foreign-listener refusal, missing router, private file permissions,
symlink/hardlink checks, parent-death cleanup, unsafe names and terminal controls.
  • New source/package checks found no lab credentials, private identities, captures,
personal paths or AI instruction files in the release artifacts.

A cold-start test exposed single-provider reseed rate limiting. The Linux launcher
now uses the bundled i2pd vendor reseed list,
with SU3 signature verification explicitly enabled. No server or Windows fix was applied.

Boundaries

Linux-to-Windows interoperability was not exercised in this run: the release retains a bounded automated test scope. The Linux
edition uses the same production SAM/protocol core, but that cross-OS test remains
open. Other distributions/architectures, large Linux transfers and a comprehensive
security audit are not claimed. Previously accepted Windows/ISO tests were not rerun.

Private state is under ~/.local/share/airdc-i2p or $XDG_DATA_HOME/airdc-i2p.
Do not publish that folder. Shared filenames are visible to hub users. A router
crash intentionally exits this Linux PoC; restart the client to reconnect.
