Windows PoC 3 - clearer I2P startup and simpler first use
Pre-releaseWindows PoC 3: clearer I2P startup and simpler first use
Public experimental prerelease. Not a stable or security-certified release.
Changes since PoC 2:
- Built-in English only; no language picker or language download.
- AirDC++ I2P Edition startup branding and a first-start wait message without a fixed timing promise.
- Separate local I2P readiness and completed hub-login status.
- Connect to I2P hub on the first toolbar button and near the top of File, with local paste validation and friendly errors.
- Open downloads folder near the top of File.
- Neutral generated nicknames for fresh Windows profiles; saved nicknames retained.
- Clearer startup and stopped-router error wording. Existing offline/shutdown behavior is unchanged.
Both packages contain the same native client. The installer keeps its AppData profile; the portable ZIP keeps Data beside the executable. Existing portable behavior, sharing, chat, transfers and bundled router supervision are unchanged. Keep the whole existing Data folder when updating a portable installation; close the old client first and do not overwrite or share private profile files.
Verification for this delta:
- Cached native Release build passed.
- Targeted native-ui test passed: generated aliases, persistence flags and saved-value loading, hub login states, hub-address paste validation, offscreen splash layout and pixels at 100/150/200 percent.
- Rendered startup previews visually inspected.
- Package privacy scans passed; no profiles, identities, captures, PDBs or lab fault controls included.
- No live VM GUI walkthrough for this delta. Previously passed transport, file-list, chat and transfer tests were not repeated because their implementation did not change. This is not a new fail-closed certification.
Source commit: c0b1fdc
Includes the English-only checkpoint 9bfd02a. The cached binary's upstream version string identifies the pre-commit build as 9bfd0-d; the source archive and package checksums identify this release. No rebuild was done solely to change that label.
The installer is unsigned. Do not disable Windows security or bypass a malware warning.
Installer ZIP: AirDC-I2P-0.1.0-poc.3-win64-setup.zip contains the same unchanged setup.exe. Extract it and run the installer. This is not the portable package; choose win64-portable.zip for portable use.
