# Sunlight Visualizer 0.3.1 — Code fixes.
Pre-releaseSunlight Visualizer 0.3.1 — Code fixes.
- Animation of power would fail during FPS limiting. (Thank you @rruki for telling me)
- Warning about thread safety in HA (Thank you @HACS-bank for telling me)
New full actual 3D scene in the works!
Will try to get it going as soon as possible:-)
Sunlight Visualizer 0.3.0 — Big Solar Intelligence Update
This is a big release focused on making Sunlight Visualizer more useful, more visual, and much easier to understand.
We also have a new Wiki here: Wiki!
4 Big Highlights
1. Smarter sun sensors
New Wall Sun Angle sensors help you understand not just if a wall is lit, but how low/deep the sunlight enters.
2. Optional Open-Meteo radiation
Add forecast-based radiation sensors for walls and roof, including direct radiation, total radiation, shading demand, and roof radiation percentage.
3. Better visual card
The card now has improved Energy HUD, surface % source selectors, EV car choices (Thank you @garylovesbeer for the suggestion 👍), WebGL fallback, and cleaner powerline/occlusion behavior.
4. More automation-ready
Use the new Open Meteo sensors for automations to make it work perfect for your installation and the current sun radiation.
What’s New
- Added optional Open-Meteo radiation support.
- Added Wall Sun Angle sensors for all walls.
- Added Wall Radiation Direct and Wall Radiation Total sensors.
- Added Wall Shading Demand and Wall Shading Status sensors.
- Added Roof Radiation and Roof Radiation Percentage sensors.
- Added Open-Meteo diagnostics and cache/retry handling.
- Added surface
%source selectors for wall and roof labels. - Added improved Energy HUD with optional CAR row.
- Added EV charger sensor and charger pulse.
- Added EV car selector: Mini SUV, Smart car, and SVG car.
- Added WebGL support detection with SVG fallback.
- Improved powerline, pole, car, tree, and sun visual layering.
- Improved HACS resource registration and cache-busting.
- Updated README with clearer visuals and setup guidance.
Fun Automation Ideas
- Close blinds when
Wall Shading Demandgets high. - Trigger awnings when a wall has strong direct sun and low sun angle.
- Pre-cool rooms before roof or wall heat load peaks.
- Compare
Roof Radiation Percentagewith solar production to spot underperformance. - Show EV charging in the card with a live CAR value and charger pulse.
Notes
Open-Meteo radiation support is optional and disabled by default.
Existing default sunlight/alignment sensors continue to work without any external API.
