Kura — one library for every PlayStation

Kura is a free application that scans your drives, identifies every PlayStation game you own, and helps you organise, transfer, and install them — across PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3, PS4, PS5, and PS Vita, in a single library. It reads inside each file for the real title, cover art, and metadata (not the filename), finds duplicates, organises for any console layout, and installs straight to your console.

No installer. No login. No account. Native builds for Windows, macOS (Apple Silicon + Intel), and Linux — plus the kura-loader.elf PS5 payload and the kura-loader-ps4.elf PS4 payload.

What's new in 1.6.47

A big stability release — and if a game ever installed but refused to launch, this is the one that fixes it.

Games that wouldn't start now start

  • A game you sent to your PS5 that installed, showed its cover, reached the splash screen and then dropped back to the dashboard — that was a permissions problem, and it's fixed. Everything Kura copies to the console now arrives ready to run, and the loader repairs older games automatically (with a one-click Repair game permissions if you want it).
  • When a title needs newer firmware than your console runs, Kura now says so clearly and can lower that requirement for you (keeping a backup) instead of failing with a vague error.
  • kstuff and FTP stay on unless you turn them off, so homebrew doesn't quietly stop working after a reboot.

Faster, resumable transfers

  • Downloads from your console are much faster (large buffers on every path), and an interrupted transfer now resumes instead of starting over.

Safer

  • The console's kernel patcher is no longer auto-replaced from the network unattended — closing a real security hole. It's opt-in now, and validated before use.

Updates that just work

  • Kura updates itself reliably again: it downloads, closes fully so the new version can replace it, reopens ready to use, and tells you the outcome. Interrupted downloads retry instead of failing.

Polish

  • Around 70 help, label and message fixes across the app and both console dashboards.
