Gameplay Basics
This page explains the normal player-facing flow of CobbleBash.
The Training Simulator is the block used to enter gym instances.
Place the Training Simulator, then use a Training Disk on it to open the matching private gym challenge.
Training Disks determine which gym type the player enters.
CobbleBash includes disks for all 18 normal Pokemon types, plus an Elite Four disk.
Training Disks can be obtained through CobbleBash progression and League Representative trades. Some disks may also appear in configured loot locations depending on the modpack or data pack setup.
Each normal gym follows the same basic progression:
- Enter the gym with the matching Training Disk.
- Defeat Trainer 1.
- Defeat Trainer 2.
- Defeat the Gym Leader.
- Receive the matching first-tier Cobble Badge.
- Receive gym clear rewards.
Each gym is private to the player running it. Other players are not pulled into the same instance unless the server or pack has additional systems layered on top.
The Elite Four challenge unlocks after the player has completed all 18 normal gyms.
The player chooses the first Elite Four member. After that, the remaining members are opened one at a time until all four are defeated. Once all four Elite Four members are defeated, the Champion arena opens.
Defeating the Champion awards the Champion Upgrade Smithing Template.
The Trainer Ribbon and Champion Ribbon are Curios-compatible items.
The Trainer Ribbon provides type-based bonuses.
The Champion Ribbon is created by upgrading a Trainer Ribbon with the Champion Upgrade Smithing Template.
The Champion Beacon is a trophy-style utility block created with the Champion Upgrade Smithing Template.
When active, the Champion Beacon provides powerful area bonuses. It is intended as a late-game reward for players who have completed the full gym and Elite Four progression.
The League Representative is a villager profession connected to the Training Simulator.
League Representatives can sell Training Disks and other battle-prep items.
