CatCheck v1.2.4 — Repository migration

Highlights

• Migrated the in-app GitHub destination, README links, security links, and Android update source from ClassCheck to the CatCheck repository.
• Kept the v1.2.3 pale-teal Material 3 Android/iOS UI and refreshed the bundled WebView assets.
• Updated Android metadata to versionCode 11 / versionName 1.2.4.

Assets

• CatCheck.apk — Android 10+ APK, signed with the same Android Debug certificate used by the previous update package.
• CatCheck-iOS-v1.2.4.zip — iOS 16+ SwiftPM/WKWebView source package with bundled web resources.

The Android update manifest is published from the Tedab branch at updates/latest.json and verifies the APK size, SHA-256, package version, and signing certificate.

CatCheck v1.2.3 Top Double-Layer Navigation UI Update

Update Details

v1.2.3 completes the UI redesign for the Android APK and iOS WebView package, unifying them into a light cyan Material 3 style with top double-layer navigation.

Key Changes

• Mobile UI: light cyan background, teal-green primary color, rounded cards, modular layout.
• Top double-layer navigation:
  • First layer: app icon, title “Meow Meow Dorm Check”, circular GitHub entry.
  • Second layer: “Today / History / Roster”.
• Added a GitHub “Join Us” modal; “View Project” opens the repository.
• Android APK external project links open in the system browser.
• iOS package synced with the same Web UI assets.

Built-in official update source

• Removed the editable update-manifest address from the Android app.
• “检查更新” now uses the official HTTPS update manifest compiled into CatCheck.
• The Web UI cannot set or pass an alternate update source.
• Preserved HTTPS-only downloads, package/version checks, APK size/SHA-256/signature verification, and Android system installation confirmation.
• Update requests begin only after the user taps “检查更新”; local rosters, attendance, exports, backups, and checker names are not uploaded.

In-app update delivery

• Added the self-hosted Android update screen under “名单”.
• Saves a maintainer-provided HTTPS update manifest URL only on the device.
• Validates HTTPS URLs, higher version code, package name, APK size, SHA-256, and signing certificate before the package is offered for installation.
• Uses Android's system installer confirmation; CatCheck does not silently install updates.
• Keeps WebView navigation constrained to packaged local assets even though the native updater needs network access.
• Adds update-manifest.example.json, a generated updates/latest.json, and tools/publish-update.ps1 for future releases.

Package note

CatCheck.apk is a debug-signed Android 10+ test package. It can update only installations signed with the same debug certificate. Before distributing a long-lived release, configure a stable release keystore and regenerate the APK, SHA-256, certificate fingerprint, and update manifest.

Release summary

This release packages the current offline CatCheck / 喵喵查寝 Android app. The APK is provided as a GitHub Release asset; it is not committed to the source branch.

Updated

• Added the bilingual English-first project documentation and Chinese README switch.
• Documented the offline-first architecture, Android WebView shell, test scope, contribution rules, and version history.
• Kept room-based attendance as the primary workflow: checker name, room selection, default-present status, exception reasons, save/next-room, and export.
• Kept local roster import and OCR support for room number, student name, and class; student numbers are not used.
• Kept commuter marking separate from attendance and report statistics.
• Kept local history, JSON backup/restore, spreadsheet/image/report exports, and browser download fallback.
• Added repository hygiene rules so APKs, signing files, build output, local databases, and personal data stay out of Git.

Package

The release asset is named CatCheck.apk. It is a debug build and is intended for testing and direct installation on Android 10 or newer. A production-signed package requires the maintainer's private signing key and is not included in this repository.
