Overview

Welcome to ScreenScribe version 1.0 Alpha! This is the very first public release of the app, designed to allow users to capture screenshots and extract text from them using Google ML Kit's OCR (Optical Character Recognition). The app is still in early development, and we’re excited to share it with you, though please note that it's in an alpha state and may have bugs.

New Features

  • OCR Text Recognition: Utilize Google ML Kit's powerful OCR engine to detect and extract text from screenshots.
  • Simple UI: A basic, minimal user interface to capture and view extracted text.
  • Copy to Clipboard: Easily copy extracted text to the clipboard for pasting elsewhere.

Known Issues

  • Bugs: As this is an alpha version, there are several bugs that may affect functionality and performance.
  • Limited Features: Some features, like text editing or exporting data, are not yet implemented.
  • UI/UX: The user interface is minimal and will be significantly improved in future versions.
  • OCR Accuracy: Text recognition may not be perfect, especially with complex images or handwriting.

  • Enhanced OCR accuracy and support for multiple languages.
  • A polished user interface for a smoother experience.
  • Ability to organize, save, and export recognized text.
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements.
