novadeck installer v0.1.1
novadeck installer v0.1.1
Writes NovaDeck to a device's internal storage, alongside Android. Flash it to
an SD card, boot the device from it, and follow the screens.
curl -LO https://pub-0f83a56e0a09480c91c75d0b9d1c0e6d.r2.dev/installer/v0.1.1/installer.img.gz
gzip -dc installer.img.gz | sudo dd of=/dev/sdX bs=4M status=progressBefore you boot it: the medium's first partition is a plain FAT volume that
Windows and macOS both show. Copy novadeck/wifi.conf.example to
novadeck/wifi.conf and put your network name and password in it — the installer
downloads NovaDeck over the network and has no way to ask you for them. A USB-C
Ethernet adapter needs no file at all. If an install fails, that same partition is
where novadeck-install.log comes out.
What it destroys: Android's user data on the target device. Android itself
still boots, factory-reset, with the space you choose on screen. The installer
says all of this and takes a per-run button sequence as consent before it writes.
This medium installs the current OS release from the update channel — it is not
pinned to one. It carries the Steam client tree /home is built from, so the only
download during an install is the OS itself.
