Hotfix for NovaBird-DB only (1.2.5)

Hotfix for NovaBird-DB only (1.2.5).

All other add-ons are the same as in 1.2.0 – just install the new DB file over the old one (same add-on ID); settings and the search index are kept, no rebuild needed.

• Faster search in large mailboxes

• Finding compound words (searching "plan" also finds "Speiseplan") looked up every new search term in the whole full-text index. In large real mailboxes this took more than a second per term – the main reason why live search could feel slow.

• The words are now kept in a small table of their own (only words that occur in at least two mails – exactly the ones used before), refreshed after indexing and when Betterbird is idle. While typing, the words found for "galax" are reused for "galaxu" instead of being searched again.

• Same search results as before. Lab test with 1.78 million index words: 148 ms → about 1 ms per term; in a real 70,000-mail mailbox the first search for a new word went from about 1.8 s to a fraction of that.

• The table is built about a minute after the first start with the new version. Going back to an older DB version works without rebuilding the index.

Release 1.2

Two add-ons are updated (Conversation, Extension); the others are the same as in 1.1.0. Install the new files over the old ones (same add-on IDs); settings and the search index are kept.

Tip: you can install several add-ons at once – select all .xpi files in the file dialog (Ctrl+A) or drag them onto the add-ons manager.

New: rule assistant (Extension 1.9.15, beta, off by default)

• Switch it on in the Extension settings under "Rules (beta)". Then right-click a mail in the list → "Create rule from this mail …".
• Three guided steps: which mails (this sender, this domain, subject, recipient or a custom condition) with a live preview of the matching inbox mails, what should happen (move, tag, mark read, star, trash), and for which accounts and when – plus a plain-language summary of the rule.
• It saves a normal Betterbird message filter (Tools → Message Filters) that keeps working without NovaBird. Existing filters are never changed, and the filter file is backed up first.
• Beta: feedback welcome, especially with IMAP accounts.

Conversation 0.14.10

• Mails that draw their logo or text as pixel graphics from thousands of tiny table cells (common in spam, sometimes in newsletters) are readable again instead of showing a long empty area.
• A single message is always shown in full; the height limit with "Show all" only applies when more messages follow.
• The "Original" button is now called "Original view".

Extension 1.9.15

• The "New Message" button above the folder list is no longer cut off ("New Mess…") at the default width.

NovaBird 1.1.0 is out

Database and Search:

• Faster indexing: each message is read once instead of twice, about a third faster on a real profile.
• Online-only IMAP folders (e.g. Gmail) are indexed with headers only and no longer re-read on every start. Virtual folders are skipped.
• Indexing no longer hangs on a broken message or folder. There is a watchdog and an optional detailed index log.
• Default search languages: English plus your Betterbird language.

Conversation:

• No more flicker: Betterbird’s own message view no longer flashes up before the conversation view.
• sender address as tooltip and “Copy email address” on right-click
• offers to disable “Thunderbird Conversations” if both are active
• Collapsed threads: selecting a collapsed thread now shows the conversation instead of Betterbird’s thread summary.

Send:

• Undo-send is more robust: the queue never gets stuck, and quitting is never blocked.

Misc:

• Contacts: tags in the detail view and a tag filter chip that combines with search text. Tags of Google/CardDAV address books are stored safely with a backup.
• Option for wider scrollbars; dark themes now also darken the NovaBird settings page.
  -Self-test after Betterbird updates: if a future Betterbird version changes something an add-on relies on, only that feature switches off, and the settings page tells you.
• Themes: no more wide border/shadow around menus on Windows.

All add-ons updated. Install over the old versions; settings and search index are kept

Minor: sync mailbox design

Just synced mailbox design with other UI impressions to make it more uniform + some minor bugfixes.

First release of NovaBird addon-packes

First release of the NovaBird add-ons for Betterbird 153 ESR: one unified search bar on an upgraded database, a conversation view, undo-send, a modern message list (Soft, Clear, Thread), new-style settings, Nova-Contact and three themes.
