Git Graph Modern 1.31.5
Git Graph Modern 1.31.5 is the first release of the nulifyer fork, preserving the existing Git Graph features.
- Use internal identifier
nulifyer.git-graph-modern, since Marketplace rejected the originalgit-graphpackage name. The visible name is Git Graph Modern because Marketplace also rejected Git Graph as a reserved display name. The username appears only as author and publisher. - Target stable VS Code 1.141.0 or newer and its Node extension host.
- Use pinned Bun tooling, updated dependencies, and a frozen lockfile.
- Follow native Source Control Graph and workbench theme colors, with paired foreground and background colors for readable labels.
- Preserve custom graph palettes and apply theme changes while the graph is open.
- Repair Git parser error propagation, watcher cleanup, folder settings, and webview state serialization.
- Remove inherited lifecycle telemetry and the upstream GitLab credential.
The release workflow tests the packaged extension in VS Code before attaching its VSIX and SHA-256 checksum, then publishes that same package to the Marketplace. The verification suite includes 1292 tests on Node 24 and 26, rendered history, commit details, and live changes across four built-in themes.
Install nulifyer.git-graph-modern from the Marketplace, or download the VSIX attached below. Disable mhutchie.git-graph and the earlier local nulifyer.git-graph build before enabling this fork because they share command IDs and settings.
Large histories still use full table and SVG rendering. LinuxNT's normal history was fully loaded during testing, but the Wine stress test was stopped after 120300 commits because of rendering stalls and resource use. Viewport virtualization remains a future milestone.
