Breaking changes

  • Terrain-following API replaced (#712). The legacy follow_terrain!/MVD path (BasicTerrainFollowing, GridFittedTerrain, FaceSampledTerrain) is removed. Terrain is now a grid property: pass a
    TerrainFollowingVerticalDiscretization (with LinearDecay or TwoLevelDecay) as z, then call materialize_terrain!(grid, h). Topography arity is Flat-aware (h(x,y), or h(x) on a y-Flat grid), and
    ICs over terrain are evaluated at physical altitude z.
  • Requires Oceananigans 0.110 (OpenBoundaryCondition → NormalFlowBoundaryCondition).
