Alpha 1
Android 2.0 (AOSP Eclair) running on the New Nintendo 3DS XL, booted by Luma3DS.
This is an alpha. Expect slow spots and the occasional crash.
Install
- Download
android3ds_a1.zipbelow. - Extract it to the root of the SD card. Its
linux/andluma/payloads/folders merge with what is already there. Keep your existingluma/folder. - Hold D-pad DOWN while you press POWER.
To return to the normal 3DS system, power off (hold START for 3 seconds) and turn the console on without holding anything.
The zip is ready to use and already includes the firmware the console needs.
What works
- Launcher2 home screen, the Eclair boot animation and boot sound
- GPU acceleration
- Touchscreen, D-pad, circle pad (as a trackball), all face buttons, and the LatinIME keyboard
- Wi-Fi on 2.4 GHz, open or WPA/WPA2-Personal
- Calls, texts, missed calls and voicemail over Wi-Fi with 3DSTelco "mobile data"
- The WebKit Browser
- Speaker, microphone, and both cameras
- Automatic time and time zone
- Every Settings screen, with settings saved to the SD card
- ADB over Wi-Fi (Wireless AFB)
Not working yet
- No sleep mode; power the console off when you are done
