Install: open the .dmg and drag Nemo to Applications. Apple Silicon Macs only (arm64). Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
A new icon
Nemo now wears a diving helmet — Captain Nemo's, not the clownfish. The octopus was CodeOS's icon, inherited from the fork. Dev, beta and prod builds are told apart by their background tint.
Housekeeping
- CodeOS is discontinued (2026-09-22); its coding pipeline lives on in Nemo's Code mode. The README no longer points to it.
- Icon sources (SVG) and the generator are in the repository (
packages/desktop/icons/source/).
Everything from 0.16.0 (Settings → Providers, declared engines with /v1/models discovery, safer LAN discovery, 0600 secrets) is unchanged.
Nemo 0.16.0
Nemo 0.16.0
Install: open the .dmg and drag Nemo to Applications. Apple Silicon Macs only (arm64). Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
Providers, done for people
- Settings → Providers is now Nemo's own tab. Your CoeOS box has a name, a URL and an API key you can edit; Test shows what the box publishes before you save. A box on your network,
https://api.coeos.ioor any CoeOS on a server work the same way. - Add engines: an OdyssAI-X engine, a second box, or any OpenAI-compatible server. Nemo reads the models each one publishes (
/v1/models) at every start. Nothing is typed by hand. - The box is no longer labelled "OdyssAI-x".
Safer defaults
- LAN discovery only fills an empty slot: it never replaces a box you already use, and Nemo tells you when it adopts one.
- Settings and diagnostics files are user-only (0600); API keys are redacted from the diagnostic config.
- A project or global
opencode.jsoncan no longer switch the router off.
Changes apply after a restart; Nemo shows a Restart button when needed.
Nemo 0.15.0
Nemo 0.15.0 — the CoeOS client, first public release.
Install: download nemo-mac-arm64.dmg, open it, drag Nemo to Applications. The app is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Allow Local Network access on first launch: Nemo finds your OdyssAI-X engine (port 8000) or CoeOS box (port 4600) on the LAN by itself; ~/.nemo/pairing.json or CODEOS_ENGINE_URL override the discovery.
What's inside
- Three modes: Nemo (everyday chat, visible reasoning, presets, personal memory in a local vault), Cowork (edit a document together with the model, with a sentinel agent), Code (the CodeOS orchestrator, three-mandate panel, plan grill, executor / reviewer / debugger / explore agents).
- Routing you can see: a Decisions view shows which competence axis and which model served every turn.
- Guardian: confidential content stays on a local model when one is available, and Nemo says so when it is not.
- Native MCP client; optional RAG and Docling servers configured by environment.
Requirements: macOS on Apple Silicon and an OdyssAI-X engine or a CoeOS box. Built on opencode (MIT).
