New

  • --include-projects option (-IncludeProjects on PowerShell) — opt-in bundling of project source trees, discovered from ~/.claude.json and Cowork spaces.json. Sensible default excludes (.git/, node_modules/, __pycache__/, .venv/, dist/, build/, target/, IDE caches, etc.); override with --no-default-excludes / -NoDefaultExcludes. Restore side picks them up automatically; skip with --skip-projects / -SkipProjects. Includes a confirmation prompt with per-path sizes before bundling.
  • Step-by-step walkthrough in the README — collapsible macOS / Windows sections covering Terminal/PowerShell basics, downloading the scripts, allowing execution, running the backup, transferring the archive (AirDrop, USB, cloud sync, scp, WeTransfer), and running the restore.

Documentation improvements

  • New "What each Claude surface stores, and what we capture" table: 3-column layout with ✓ / ✗ / — legend, fits a full-width browser.
  • "What gets skipped" and "After restore" sections converted from prose lists to scannable tables.
  • "Different username on the new Mac" section split into three small tables (Rewritten / Override flags / NOT rewritten).
  • Two mermaid diagrams: high-level migration flow at the top, cloud/local boundary inside the FAQ.
  • FAQ expanded with Claude-for-Office / Google Workspace add-in coverage and architecture-portability notes (Apple Silicon ↔ Intel .node bindings).

Why upgrade from v0.1.1

The only behavior difference is the new --include-projects flag, which is opt-in. All existing flows are unchanged. The rest of v0.1.2 is documentation aimed at helping less-technical users complete the migration.

Known caveats (carried from v0.1.0)

  • macOS scripts are runtime-tested; Windows scripts are port-reviewed but not runtime-tested.
  • The macOS full-restore-over-real-install path is not runtime-tested (the logic is straightforward, but exercising it requires clobbering a live install or using a separate test account / VM).
  • Cross-platform Mac↔Windows migration is intentionally not supported; both restore scripts detect and refuse a foreign-platform archive.
