v0.7.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Huti-K Huti-K released this 10 Sep 17:55

Automations now replay a bounded recent history, reducing repeated context processing as scheduled runs accumulate. The complete transcript remains stored locally.

  • Context compaction summarizes chunks concurrently, has a two-minute summary budget, and records chunk timing against the active run.
  • Recovery from a provider's context-size refusal can persist a reduced context even when summarization is interrupted. If no summary is available, earlier messages remain in local history and search.
  • Compacted chat histories retain the user's questions when reopened.
  • One-time automations retire after an attempt, including a failed attempt. Recurring schedules remain enabled; quarterly schedules are no longer mistaken for one-time jobs.
  • The context display includes the current conversation's tool schemas, including before the first model request.
  • Expanded migration coverage and automated unused-code checks.

v0.6.8

Choose a tag to compare

@Huti-K Huti-K released this 05 Sep 12:15

Fixes the missing @earendil-works/pi-server runtime dependency that prevented agent conversations from starting in the desktop app.

  • Includes the current chat header, composer, model/context controls, and circular send button.
  • Dedicated Connections page, live automation progress, time-zone-aware dates, and refreshed styling and branding.
  • Current model catalog, including GPT-6 Astra.
  • Retains the Windows SQLite startup repair and macOS signing fixes.
  • Adds a release-blocking packaged-app check: a chat request executes a real file tool with a scripted model, verifies the reply, and checks conversation history across restarts. The check was also verified to reject a package with the missing dependency.

Existing user data is preserved. Update through Settings → About → Check for updates, then restart when the download is ready. No clean install or data deletion is needed for this dependency fix.

Version 0.6.7 was never published; its application changes are included here.

v0.6.6

@Huti-K Huti-K released this 05 Sep 11:23

Fixes a native SQLite startup crash affecting Windows installations.

  • Updates the bundled SQLite driver to 13.0.3 while preserving existing data.
  • Prevents update installation before the download has completed.
  • Adds packaged startup checks for fresh and existing data on Windows and macOS, plus improved runtime diagnostics.

If Marlene cannot open, download the new installer and install it over the existing version using the same Windows account. Keep your Marlene data folder; no data reset is needed. Back up the complete folder before reinstalling.

v0.6.4

Choose a tag to compare

@Huti-K Huti-K released this 04 Sep 17:20

The Mac app is signed and notarised by Apple now. macOS no longer stops a downloaded version at the door, and updates install themselves again instead of halting at a warning. The first signed version has to be installed by hand once, and everything after it arrives on its own.

On a Mac, starting with the system now leaves Marlene in the background where it belongs. Until now the window came up in front of everything at login.

v0.6.2

Choose a tag to compare

@Huti-K Huti-K released this 04 Sep 07:59

A file that cannot be taken into the wiki no longer keeps the app from starting. It stays where it is, the start carries on, and the log names it. When a start does fail, the reason now stands in the message and in the log instead of an exit code on its own.

v0.6.1

Choose a tag to compare

@Huti-K Huti-K released this 03 Sep 12:05

Editing a draft no longer costs it its formatting. Bold text and links survived being sent, but not a change made in the app: whatever you saved went out flat, links reduced to plain words. The letter now shows the draft in the same marks the assistant writes it in, ** for bold and text for a link, and turns them back into real formatting on the way out.

When the local server stops for good, the error message now names the reason instead of a number, and a button opens the folder holding the logs. That folder now keeps the app's log and the server's log side by side, so one folder is the whole story.

v0.6.0

Choose a tag to compare

@Huti-K Huti-K released this 03 Sep 07:43

The report at the top of Home now stands in a frame of its own, so you can see where it begins and where it ends. Only the parts that need you stay open in it; everything routine folds together under one "More", instead of a heading for each kind.

Home's two columns split by job. On the left stands the outbox and nothing else: every draft waiting to go out, on any channel. On the right are your tasks, the assistant's questions first, and under them the day, which no longer holds a column of its own for a handful of automations.

When the assistant has a question about a draft it wrote, you now answer it in the letter, where the text it is about is in front of you, instead of on a row that cannot show it. The row says a question is open, the letter puts it over the draft, and it says plainly that answering sends nothing: your answer is an instruction, the assistant rewrites the draft, and you read it again before it goes. While it is rewriting, the row says so.

A row now tells you what pressing it does before you press it. An arrow means it opens on a screen of its own, a chevron means it unfolds where it stands. An email draft opens as a letter, a WhatsApp message and a question open in place.

The assistant can write Word documents and PowerPoint decks. Ask for a report, a deck or a handout as a file and it lands in your library under Wissen, where you can open it, and it can attach it to an email in the same breath. Slide decks are cut one slide per heading. PDF is not among the formats yet.

This release also carries everything from 0.5.0 and 0.5.1, which were built but never published.

v0.4.8

v0.4.8

v0.4.7

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 23 Aug 18:01
release: v0.4.7

A chat that had run into the assistant's size limit could stay broken for good.
One oversized tool result was enough, and nothing after it succeeded however
short, because the summarizing that should have made room kept that result whole
and reported success. Results are bounded on the way in now, an affected chat
repairs itself on its next message, and where the limit really is the setup
rather than the conversation the app says so instead of suggesting a new chat
that fails identically.

The rest of this release is about knowing what you are running. The version
shows under the chat box, and a newer one is announced as soon as the release
feed names it rather than only once it is staged to install, which on macOS it
never is: unsigned builds cannot replace themselves there, so the app now says
that and offers the download.
