Undertow V0.47.2 — AIO next-episode metadata

Choose a tag to compare

@OneHotTake OneHotTake released this 14 Oct 20:25

Undertow now preserves AIO's optional release metadata in Emby playback listings, including aiostreams.bingeGroup, release identity and known display fields. Lume's source-picker build can use its existing next-episode matching policy through Undertow. The Automatic alias retains the same release identity so compatible clients can deduplicate it.

Matching requires the upstream to supply the same nonempty group for an offered version of each episode. Undertow does not invent groups or override the client's chooser, resume or failure policy. The tested upstream returned no AIO extension for two episode responses, so this release alone cannot enable matching for those responses.

Validation:

  • 108 contract checks against the pinned Emby 4.10.0.40 ABI; no build warnings or errors.
  • 112 checks with Emby 4.10.1.0's actual JSON serializer, plus six checks using Lume's unchanged decoding/selection code.
  • Movie and episode version listing, exact selected-file probing, audio/video tracks and stream closure passed with zero probe failures. Device playback, seek and automatic next-episode transitions remain untested for this release.

Install: stop Emby, replace the existing Undertow.dll with the attached DLL, then restart. Keep one plugin copy and preserve existing settings/data. No migration or catalog rebuild is required. Rollback uses the previous DLL while retaining newer databases and watch state.

Undertow V0.47.1 — Moonfin default playback test

Choose a tag to compare

@OneHotTake OneHotTake released this 10 Oct 15:39

Clients that pin Emby's pathless item-detail source ID can now start Undertow playback. The plugin offers that ID as an automatic finite HTTP file, while preserving all real version IDs and native selected-file probing. Omitting a live-stream session ID prevents Moonfin from treating a movie as live TV and retrying past EOF.

This is a test release for default playback, not complete Moonfin compatibility. It is already deployed on our Emby server for device testing.

Verified:

  • 90 contract checks, with zero build warnings/errors against pinned Emby 4.10.0.40 references.
  • Isolated and production Emby 4.10.1.0: movie and episode direct decoding/30-second seeks; explicit non-default versions preserve identity, probe one file, decode with English audio through native remux and close.
  • Mac Moonfin 2.6.0: actual Undertow movie playback, changing frames, forward seek and continued progress; runtime 1:36:24.
  • Library IDs, file-backed identities/paths, watch state and Undertow settings preserved at deployment; health/security checks passed.

Remaining limits:

  • Moonfin's Undertow version menu is unchanged; it still reads static item-detail sources.
  • The Audio Track dialog was empty in the Mac test. Automatic playback uses the file's audio; manual language/track selection and subtitles are not qualified. Native explicit versions retain real probed tracks.
  • The automatic direct-file choice excludes candidates requiring HTTP headers. Native explicit sources continue to preserve those headers.
  • Whole-film, Moonfin episode, iOS/tvOS, remote-network and expiry/resume acceptance remain pending.
  • Managed Static=true proxy delivery remains unsupported; tested native remux uses Static=false.

No catalog rebuild, stream URL persistence, private server hook or Moonfin rebuild is required. Preserve configuration and data when replacing the DLL. See docs/moonfin.md and docs/verification.md for details.

Undertow V0.47.0

Choose a tag to compare

@OneHotTake OneHotTake released this 09 Oct 01:51

Recent movies without a confirmed home release can now wait for usable streams before appearing in Emby. Enable Maintenance → Check recent movies without a confirmed home release, enter a TMDB API key or read access token, save and refresh. The feature is off by default.

  • Any usable candidate publishes or retains the movie. A completed empty lookup withholds a new movie or removes its existing Undertow entry; errors preserve the previous decision. Existing unchecked movies remain visible until their first conclusive result.
  • Searches apply to already-premiered movies less than 365 days old without a past digital, physical or TV release. Future premieres are withheld without stream searches. Older movies, series and locally owned duplicates stay outside the background queue.
  • Background searches are limited to one movie per minute, once per movie per 24 hours, and 48 attempts per rolling 24 hours. Failed and cancelled attempts count; restarting or refreshing does not reset the budget. Each lookup may fan out to upstream addons/indexers. No video is opened, probed or downloaded by the task.
  • TMDB supplies release dates only. Streams still come from your configured source. The TMDB credential is required only for this optional feature; ordinary import and playback work without it.

Disable the switch, save and refresh to restore ordinary publication. Saved catalog metadata is retained; local media is preserved. Availability evidence does not guarantee playback on every device. On a first installation, Emby may delay the first automatic run by one hour; run Check Undertow recent-movie availability once in Scheduled Tasks for an immediate first result.

Built against pinned Emby 4.10.0.40 references; 82 contract checks passed, zero build warnings/errors. Verified on production Emby 4.10.1.0: positive/empty/upcoming publication, full rebuild, retained file-backed identities and watch data. Physical clients and sustained playback were not retested. The release DLL exactly matches production.

Install Undertow.dll while Emby is stopped, preserve existing configuration/data, then restart. See the README, feature guide and verification.

Undertow V0.46.1

@OneHotTake OneHotTake released this 07 Oct 23:09

Prevent duplicate Undertow titles when you already own them locally. Enable Skip titles already in the local library, save, and refresh. Matching uses IMDb, TMDB or TVDB IDs. The switch is off by default.

Series are all or nothing: any matching local series skips the entire Undertow series, even when you own only some episodes. This does not fill episode gaps. Turn the switch off, save, and refresh to restore retained Undertow entries. Physical files and distinct cuts are unchanged.

Built against pinned Emby 4.10.0.40 references; 57 contract checks passed. Verified on production Emby 4.10.1.0, including toggle restoration and full rebuild. Install Undertow.dll and preserve existing configuration/data.

V0.45.7

@OneHotTake OneHotTake released this 07 Oct 17:16

Season and episode refresh now accepts hours instead of days. Native Maintenance supports 1–720 hours. New installations default to six hours; older day settings migrate without silently changing their duration.

The production catalog and season/episode intervals are set to two hours. Refresh remains metadata-only; streams are discovered and probed on demand. Existing artwork is preserved.

Pinned Emby 4.10.0.40 build and all 39 contract checks passed, including XML migration. Install the single Undertow.dll and retain configuration/data.
