Custom fields on tasks

  • A project's admins give its tasks fields of their own: Select, Multi-select, Text, Number, Money, Date, Person, Checkbox and Link. Add one from a task's panel (Add a field, Edit fields) or the board's View menu (Manage fields…).
  • Set values in the task's panel: a choice saves as it's picked, a typed value when its box loses focus. Money is typed in units and kept to the cent in the field's currency.
  • Each field is a column in the list. Fields in the list's toolbar filters by a choice, a person or a checkbox, or to the tasks with any value or none, and saved views keep those filters. Cards show the fields marked On cards. When the list is narrow, the created date steps aside before a project's fields do.
  • A value shows for everyone in the project straight away, and goes into the task's history.
  • Options keep their identity through a rename. Taking one away takes it off the tasks that had it, after asking; deleting a field deletes its values.
  • A repeating task's next copy keeps its values. Project templates carry a project's fields; the Client project and Product launch templates now come with one each.
  • New: migration 192; GET/POST /project/{p}/fields, /fields/reorder, /fields/{f}, /fields/{f}/delete; POST /task/field. List filters take field_<id>.

Cycle burndown and velocity

  • Burndown on any cycle in the Cycles button, or the chart button beside the cycle a list shows: what's still to do each day against an even pace to its last day, in tasks or, where tasks have estimates, hours, with a sentence on whether it's on pace.
  • Velocity: what the last six completed cycles finished, and how much the current or next cycle holds against the average of the last three.
  • Completing a cycle now keeps a record of the tasks it left unfinished (migration 191), so its chart ends where the work stood after they move on.
  • Days are the reader's own: someone a few time zones from whoever made the cycle sees every day it touches. New: GET /project/{p}/cycles/{c}/burndown?tz=.

Fixes

  • Editing a task in a list filtered by cycle, assignee, overdue or a project's own status no longer drops it from the list until the next refresh.
  • A list no longer hides columns sooner than it needs to.
