v2.72.0
A workspace with nothing in the way
Every screen is rebuilt to one standard, with nothing between you and your work: no top bar, one sidebar that holds the workspace, search and you, and one palette that takes you anywhere or answers a question. Underneath, docs keep one copy of what you type, a deleted doc is gone everywhere, and private docs stay private in search.
- Nothing above the page. The top bar is gone: the sidebar holds the workspace menu, Search or ask (Ctrl K) and you, with your status, focus time, pause and theme. Drag its edge to resize it, or fold it to a rail with Ctrl .
- Docs keep one copy of what you type. A doc no longer gains a copy of itself when someone reconnects, docs with tables, embeds, polls, charts or captioned images save again, and a save that fails no longer stops live editing for everyone else.
- Private docs stay private in search. Search and AI search find a doc only for the people who may read it now, comments included.
- One palette, two modes. Type to jump anywhere, or press Tab to ask: the answer streams in with the channels, docs and tasks it came from.
- Every area is rebuilt. Chat, tasks, docs, tables, boards, the calendar, home, search, the inbox, settings and the phone layout all follow the same standard.
- Faster where you feel it. Opening the app keeps the browser busy for about a sixth of the time it did, typing in a message box does a third of the work, and scrolling a long channel less than half.
- A deleted doc is gone everywhere. It can't be opened, edited, joined live, commented on, opened through a guest link, or read by the assistant and agents, and the people it was shared with are told it was deleted. Anyone typing in it when it goes is told too, and what they typed is kept aside.
- Sharing a doc outside the workspace is its owner's decision. Links that editors made before keep working until the owner, an admin or whoever made them turns them off, and whoever made a link can still find it to turn it off.
Fixes
- Reactions could change content they didn't belong to; fixed.
- Retention archive and restore of docs work again. A restored doc stays restored until it has gone unused for the whole period again, comments deleted before stay deleted, and a doc someone is working on is never archived under them.
- In the restore list, an admin sees a private doc's title only if they can read the doc. Restoring a doc its owner deleted leaves its guest links off, and the owner is told they can turn them back on.
- A comment on a doc reaches the people taking part in it, and only those who can still read it. Push and email no longer depend on each other, and pauses and quiet hours hold.
- Search finds a board's comments only for the people who can read the board now, and the activity feed leaves out comments on docs and boards you can't read.
- Only a person can notify someone through their pause or quiet hours; agents, bots and API tokens can't.
- The activity feed no longer skips things that happened in the same second.
- Renaming an archived project no longer brings it back into search.
- Two people typing the first lines of a new doc at the same time both keep them.
- AI answers arrive whole: a backslash, a tab or another control character no longer drops part of one.
- Catch me up holds docs and boards to the same check as search, a deleted board's comments no longer turn up in AI search, and the AI record names the agent that acted.
- A doc with no owner on record takes comments again, and very large page numbers in doc lists no longer fail.
- Archiving or restoring thousands of docs no longer floods the server. Search rewrites no longer skip an entry that something else was writing at the same moment, and the first start's search rewrite reads around a doc too large to send.
Before you update
Nothing to change: there are no database migrations. Re-run the install command you installed with, then make update; it takes a backup first and checks the result. The first start rewrites every doc's search entries once, in the background. Scripts that read docs through the API now get 410 for a deleted doc they could open, and 404 otherwise. If a collaboration service from before 10 October damaged some docs, docker compose --env-file .env --project-name onecamp -f sample-compose.yml exec go-service ./app repairdocs lists them, and adding --apply restores them.
