3.2.0
Element notes now carry their whole field set, and text fields have moved into the note body.
What changed
A new element shows you everything it can hold. Creating a Character used to give you a note with two fields, name and id, and no way to find out about the other thirty-six. Now you get the full set: identity, numbers and links as Properties, and every text field as a section in the body. Empty ones included, because the empty section is how you learn the field exists.
Text fields live in the body as foldable headings. Obsidian's Properties panel can't group or collapse, and a one-line property input is the wrong place to write a paragraph. Headings fold, so a long element collapses to an outline. Links stay clickable [[wikilinks]] wherever they are.
Three new commands.
Manage Fields— tick which fields this element carries, grouped by kind. Changes apply as you toggle. A field holding text can't be removed there; clear it in the note first.Add Custom Field— add a text field of your own. It syncs asx_yourfield.Update World to Latest Format— bring an existing world up to the current layout. Shows what it would change before touching anything, and is safe to run twice.
Fixes
- Custom fields no longer disappear. A frontmatter key that wasn't a known field was silently dropped on upload. It's now kept, namespaced automatically so the API accepts it.
- Links to elements that aren't uploaded yet no longer fail quietly. Saving used to leave the link field out (correctly, so the server copy isn't stripped) without telling you. It now names the elements and suggests uploading first.
- Notes could lose their Properties. Under some edits the frontmatter block ended up below blank lines, at which point Obsidian stops treating it as frontmatter and the note renders as plain text. Fixed at the root, and affected notes repair themselves on the next write.
- Re-downloading a world under a different folder name no longer creates a duplicate. Worlds are matched by API key, not folder name.
- Downloaded notes carry the full field set, not just fields that happen to have values.
Upgrading
Nothing changes in your vault until you ask. Old notes keep working; the plugin reads every format it has written. Run Update World to Latest Format when you want a world on the new layout — it reports first and writes only after you confirm. Try it on a copy the first time.
