pyTS v1.0.0
First stable release of pyTS, the Python Trace Setup utility for CMSIS Debug integration.
Highlights
- Generate
.ctrace-run.ymltrace setup from CMSIS.cbuild-run.ymland.ctrace.ymlfiles, resolving symbols and types from ELF/DWARF information. - Generate ITM and DWT register configuration for supported Cortex-M processors, including data trace, exception and event trace, PC sampling, timestamps, and synchronization.
- Support interactive trace validation with temporary configuration files, structured diagnostics, and relative symbol-file paths.
- Provide standalone executables for Linux and Windows (x64 and Arm64) and macOS (Apple Silicon).
Changes since v0.8.0
This release promotes the v0.8.0 source state to v1.0.0. There are no source, CLI, or trace-configuration format changes relative to v0.8.0.
Release commit: 362e165175267ad3653eefa255a491ef4aac0703.
Validation
- CI passed for the release commit, covering the supported executable targets and Python 3.10, 3.12, and 3.14.
- Local validation: 583 tests passed; one real ELF integration test skipped because
arm-none-eabi-gccis unavailable. Pyright and mypy passed.
Standalone executables are built and attached by the release workflow after publication. Source installation requires Python 3.10 or later.
