Explorer crashes at the instant it starts.

As long as I have OpenShell on my system explorer.exe crashes, leaving desktop and start menu untouchable. I saw that the exact error happened with case #133 however his fix didn't work for me.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Start explorer.exe by any means (start your pc/ start it from task manager)

• Open-Shell: 4.4.142
• OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (NT 6.1 Build 7600)

Here is the procdump, don't expect much though it crashed in less than one second.

I'm looking at the dump, there is definitely something weird going on, but I have no clue why it is happening :(

For now I have just one advice:
If you need to stick to Win7 (for whatever reason), at least use latest version of it (install SP1 and fully update system).

Oh, so its OS related? Its no problem then, I was going to update to 10 in while regardless. Thank you for the fast reply.

I have the same issue. But it's not just explorer - if I download it in, say, Firefox, and run it from the Downloads menu in Firefox - Firefox hangs/crashes.

*I'm on Windows 10 Home 1903

I have had this exact issue on Windows 7, in my case it was probably caused by an update which caused some sort of corruption. I haven't had this happen on Win10, but this might just be by chance.

well, at me works all well.. had they are post the Versions of Open-shell ?
I have here Win7 and no troubles run here around, Openhshell does his work in Win7, my version is 4.4.143 .

I believe I am having this issue. Is there any fix for having Explorer.exe crash?
I keep getting various Event 1000 Application Errors for various programs. I completed SFC Repair and DISM Repair. They said they found errors and corrected them successfully, but the crashing persists. I have temporarily disabled Open-Shell from starting too see if the crashing persists.
Any help appreciated / Sorry to dig up an old thread.

That is hard to tell unless you'll provide crash dump from Explorer crash.

I'm afraid you have some bigger problem, unrelated to Open-Shell :(
