Open Planner Studio v2026.7.5
What's New in v2026.7.5
This release delivers phase 2.7: views — a working time-scale picker, configurable columns, real filters, grouping and sorting, saveable layouts, presentation mode, split view and a mini-map. The task table and the Gantt chart now draw from one shared row list, so they can never disagree about what you see.
Views
- Time scale that actually works: pick Year, Quarter, Month, Week or Day and the timeline really changes — the view recenters on what you were looking at, and the label always matches what is drawn (it is derived from the zoom, including after Ctrl+scroll).
- Configurable columns: choose which columns the task table shows, drag them into your order and set widths (in the dialog or by dragging the header). New Resources column shows who is assigned to each task.
- Filters: build nested AND/OR filters over any field — built-in fields, activity codes, custom fields and resources — with an editor that adapts to the field type (text, number, date, multi-select). Parents of matching tasks stay visible, dimmed, so you never lose context.
- Grouping and sorting: group by any field up to two levels (e.g. phase → resource) with band headers and counts — a task with two resources appears under both. Sort on multiple keys, stable, within the hierarchy.
- Layouts: save your combination of columns, filter, grouping, sorting and time scale as a named layout and apply it anytime. Layouts referring to fields a document doesn't have are tolerated gracefully.
- Presentation mode (F11): true full screen with all chrome hidden — just the Gantt. Escape returns.
- Split view: two independent time windows side by side on the same task grid — inspect this week and the hand-over milestone at once, each with its own zoom.
- Mini-map: a thumbnail strip of the whole project with a draggable viewport frame — click or drag to jump.
- Structure edits (indent, outdent, row moves) are safely locked while a filter, grouping or sort is active; date edits keep working.
Improvements
- Automatic recalculation setting: when enabled, the schedule recalculates by itself after every change — no more F5. Off by default; find it in Settings.
- The calculate button is now consistently named Calculate everywhere (it was "CPM" in some places).
- Release notes now show inside the in-app updater when an update is offered.
- The Gantt hover tooltip is now fully translated.
Quality
- Scheduling regression suite grown from 256 to 280 hand-computed cases (all green), now covering the whole view pipeline: filter evaluation, grouping bands, multi-key sorting, collapse behaviour and time-scale round-trips.
- Table↔Gantt parity is structural: both consume one shared, headless-tested row list.
- All new UI text translated in 14 languages.
