This release focuses on reducing background resource usage and simplifying the input pipeline for maximum responsiveness.

🎤 Microphone Improvements

🆕 Manual Mic Test Mode

The microphone input level meter no longer runs continuously in Settings.

  • Added Start / Stop Mic Test button
  • Mic level meter now activates only when explicitly started
  • No background audio capture while browsing Settings
  • Immediate cleanup of:
    • AudioContext
    • MediaStream tracks
    • Animation loops
  • Reduced unnecessary CPU and RAM usage

The mic test is now fully independent from the streaming microphone pipeline.

⚡ Input Pipeline Simplification

🧹 Removed Keyboard Layout Translation Layer

  • Removed AZERTY/QWERTZ character-level translation logic
  • Removed synthetic modifier injection (Shift / AltGr emulation)
  • Restored pure scancode + VK keyboard handling
  • Simplified keydown/keyup flow

🎯 Result

  • Reduced per-keystroke processing
  • Cleaner input path
  • Slightly lower CPU overhead
  • More predictable keyboard behavior

🔧 Internal Cleanup

  • Removed unused layout mapping modules
  • Simplified keyboard architecture
  • Reduced background processing in Settings
  • Minor memory footprint improvements
