Safety and Recovery

Use this checklist before and after edits to avoid data loss.

Before Editing

1. Duplicate the archive.
2. Rename the copy with date/time.
3. Work only on the copy.

During Editing

• Keep enough free disk space for temporary rewrite operations.
• Avoid force-closing the app while saving.
• Save smaller batches when making many changes.

After Editing

1. Re-open the saved archive.
2. Verify key files exist.
3. Extract one sample file to confirm readability.

If Something Looks Wrong

1. Stop editing that file immediately.
2. Re-open the backup.
3. Compare changed entries in smaller batches.
4. Retry with fewer changes per save.

Common Safe Habit

Treat every major save like a checkpoint.
