Scope and Limitations

This page is intentionally direct so you know what to trust.

In Scope (What It Is Built For)

  • Manual archive editing on desktop
  • Open, browse, insert, delete, extract, save
  • Legacy Bioware archive workflows

Out of Scope (What It Is Not)

  • Bulk automation pipelines
  • Modern cloud sync collaboration
  • Guaranteed cross-platform native build inside this repo
  • Full format conversion suite

Platform Reality

  • Primary runtime target is Windows desktop.
  • Linux/macOS workflows may rely on Wine for some paths.
  • Toolchain setup on non-Windows can vary and is not always plug-and-play.

Save Model Limitation

Saves are full rewrites, not tiny in-place patches.

Implications:

  • Save time scales with archive size.
  • Interrupting save is risky.
  • Backups are strongly recommended.

UX/Behavior Limitations To Remember

  • Staged (unsaved) entries are shown with *.
  • Staged entries are skipped by extraction until saved.
  • Some format UI paths need manual verification in your environment.
