DGC v0.40.2
DGC CLI 0.40.2 pairs with extension 0.25.2. Editor protocol remains v14; this extension requires CLI 0.40.2 or newer.
- Explicit requests for test options now open the interactive selector, including recommendations. DGC gives bounded tool-use reminders when a model returns a prose menu instead.
present_documentrenders Markdown as a browser document in every mode, including Auto. It is separate from artifacts and plan approval, with section navigation, tables and a Markdown download. The local URL lasts while DGC runs; PDF export uses browser Print → Save as PDF.- Completed agents disappear from the composer count immediately. Failed or stopped agents remain briefly, and their history stays available. Failed task steps retain their failure status after reopening a chat.
- The editor updater retains useful diagnostics in Output → DGC update and restarts the backend after success. The installer searches for a supported Python and reuses a working interpreter during managed updates.
- Ollama thinking controls follow each model's native capabilities: a boolean for most models, low/medium/high for GPT-OSS, and low/high/max for GLM 5.3 Flash. DGC's profiles also change its guidance; they are not five universal model-native reasoning tiers.
- Token Usage distinguishes missing reports from reported zero and reads totals, model rows and days from one consistent database snapshot. These are local provider-reported counts, not a subscription balance or invoice.
- Includes actual-tool checklist recovery and persisted, read-only approval decisions after reload. Denied steps remain labelled denied.
Validated with the CLI suite, 549 extension checks, the real VS Code extension host, real GLM 5.3 Flash sessions, Linux/macOS Python CI, and browser acceptance checks. Runtime and website release allowlists exclude private work records.
Update the CLI with dgc update. Update the extension through your editor, or install the verified website VSIX using Extensions: Install from VSIX… and reload. The extension continues to use a separate CLI installation.
