There's no "ask first" option afaik. Usually it's cups-browsed that creates queues for everything it finds on the network, so start there: If you want to keep it running, set For USB printers it's usually not CUPS but the udev rule from system-config-printer (on Debian/Ubuntu it's the system-config-printer-udev package), removing that stops it. Driverless printers will still show up in the print dialogs, but those are temporary queues, nothing gets installed. |
